I was pretty sure DB had a 82 game
Budokai 3 being below 80 is a travesty. The only thing wrong with that game is the lack of cutscenes
I concur. What the heck were they thinking back then ??

PS4 already has 2 great fighting game this year .
Hearing that no Dragonball game has ever scored above 80 is a joke and the reason why I can't take that site serious anymore...
Nice to hear it. It was expected though, Arc System Works is pretty good at what they do.
Gamestop's review is still in progress, but is very favorable:
|Despite the countless Dragon Ball games that have appeared since the manga debuted in the mid-'80s, the series has never needed them to sustain its popularity. Most are forgettable, some are good, and even fewer are truly great. Thanks to developer Arc System Works' particular talents, Dragon Ball FighterZ is one of the great ones, if not the best yet. Even if you think Dragon Ball is old hat, and even if you're intimidated by fighting games, there's a good chance you'll be drawn into the explosive action and personalities that expertly evoke the anime's infectious spirit.|
Meta: 88 worldwide. This game is soooooooo awesome guys < 3Last edited by KazumaKiryu - on 24 January 2018
Decided to look up metacritic scores and I couldn't believe what I saw.
Legacy of Goku for the GBA has a 53?? Whaaaaaat? It's a solid game! Wtf!
A big part of it is that even when the games are really good, like Budokai 3 or the Wii Tenkaichi games, they still appeal primarily to Dragonball fans, and anyone who isn't already a fan is going to rate them much lower by default because they have 0 interest in the characters or the premise. It's like if someone who thought Mario and Kirby were stupid kids stuff reviewed Super Smash Brothers. He's going to rate it lower than the Mario or Kirby fan. So the games end up perhaps overrated by fans and underrated by everyone else.
Honestly, I'm more shocked at this game's high rating than past low ratings for good games.
