Any day now, Switch meets edge of cliff

Well, this thread sure aged like milk.
It's times like these where I wish quickrick, Lawlite, and those "cliff" guys were still around just to see how much crow they can scarf down before learning their lesson.

Most of them were banned right?
Quickrick was fun though.

Remember that thread "its dying here, what can we do to change it?"

Not ban these users that bring life to the place lol :p
Yes I'd have loved to see them eat crow too.

That's the thing though, they never would've "learned their lesson". They would've just kept moving the goalposts and carried on indefinitely.

It stops being fun when its just same tired old song and dance over and over and over again.

I kinda agree with you, it'll fail as a handheld but succed as a home console. It happens a lot with Nintendo hardware, very frontloaded.

That will get funny to see with the arrival of the Lite in 3 weeks

Nintendo is teh d00med!

I thought this would be a good time to bump the thread. Switch is getting back to back releases. Poke'mon will be out soon. Switch Lite may cause a large boost in sales. Switch is about to outsell XB1. Everything indicates that this isn't a fad. :D

Right, clearly the Switch has not been a failure for Nintendo.

Will the Switch still be doing well in three years, though? That's what I'm curious to find out. I'm not sure if it will have a long lifespan, and if it follows suit with what the Wii did, then sales of it's competitors will overtake the console in the next couple of years. This is why I still think that a hardware upgrade would give the console added life, and I think the way they would need to do it is by allowing developers to tune their games such that both the regular Switch and Switch Pro can play the same games, but with the Switch Pro playing them at a higher resolution or higher whatever.

without a substantial 3rd party support it will have the same fate that the WII U had.

Therefor, I am convinced that the Switch is a fad that will go away within a year or two. And I am not a hater by any means as a matter fact I want it to succeed because i believe it's a very unique concept, however with lackluster 3rd party AAA support it has a very predictable fate.

Absolutely, OP! As the year comes to an end, we are seeing the first cracks in the Switch "miracle" : rushed ports, handheld mode not keeping up, 3rd party sales not taking off, dubious or carefree publishers, little announcements for next year... If the January Direct doesn't meet (great) expectations, the sales momentum will be broken alongside the fans' dream of reconquista.

I think it wont sell over 50 millions. Sales will decline next year, the big switch hype is over

I think it will do around slightly less than GameCube numbers. I wouldn't say it will 'fail'. But the momentum is sure to drop like a brick after the holiday months.

You really think its gonna hit 50 million?

Maybe if they drop the price to 179.99...like...tomorrow...

Well, that was certainly an entertaining read.

There's a lesson here folks; before you post anything, bear in mind what it might look like when people bump it years down the line. ;)

LOL, that was an awesome read.  I wonder if any/all of them are quickrick with an alt account.  They definitely found a lot of different ways to say Switch sales will "fall off a cliff".

No, the Switch probably won't get Anthem or Doom 2...

It won't get Anthem, but that ain't a loss. At all. Seriously, at that rate, I'm not convinced Anthem will make it past it's first year.

And we're getting Doom 2 Ethernal.
