Forums - Sony Discussion - So I am playing Persona 5..

I absolutely love Persona 4 Golden on Vita

So I bought Persona 5 collectors edition the day it released even though I knew I did not have the time to play it then.(to support the developers)

Now I started it, I am like 6 hours into the game, I am enjoying it...but

THE UI IS AN ABSOLUTE MESS!

This is the perfect example of developers thinking more is more. I mean everything on the screen is moving at the same time.

When I am walking through a door they implemented thousands of animations just for the door transition.

In the dungeons the whole screen is moving at all times and even the edges of the screen have a pattern on a pattern that are both moving!

its absolutely unneccecary

every menu has thousands of different animations and pictures just cause..there is no reason!!

Its just a complete mess. especially after Persona 4 Golden wich was an absolutely beatiful game from start to finish with perfect transitions and it was just pleasing to look at.

Less is definately more in this example.

(this is my experience of course guys ^^)

What do you guys think?

I don't know what you are talking about but I completely agree!

Its one of those things you either love, or hate.

no reason..except to give it a unique art style!

Meh. I like the UI.

Can't say I agree and p4g is in my top 3 favorite games of all time.   None of the transitions or stylish menu animations hindered my experience, in fact i would just flip back and forth sometimes on the menu screen just to gush at all the love that went into p5.  I love p5, it's amazing but I still love p4g just that little bit more cause I feel the characters were stronger,  nothing to do with the Ui.

I personally like Persona 5 UI more than Persona 4 Golden.

As a designer, I love the Persona 5 UI! I think it's just a matter of preference

I loved the UI :)

Are you sure you’re playing Persona 5?

I don’t recall the menus ever moving like the way you describe it.

"Just for comparison Uncharted 4 was 20x bigger than Splatoon 2. This shows the huge difference between Sony's first-party games and Nintendo's first-party games."
