Forums - Gaming Discussion - How Blizzard ruined gaming, now every game has lootboxes

Overwatch's loot boxes are not that bad. Not ideal but it's only skins and other non-gameplay affecting items. Like others have said, it was used way before Overwatch and it was used in way worst manners than in Overwatch. The only reason you single out Blizzard is because you're on a personal vendetta against them.

People forget, but FIFA has had it for a long time. Instead of boxes it's boosters in ultimate team.

Anyways, people are finally realizing they are beeing scammed. This could be reverted if Shadow of war were to flop massively. AKA if we all boycotted it.
The thing is, there must be point where the consumer needs to send a clear NO message with their wallets. If it doesn't happen greed will keep pushing.

Don't give them too much credit. It all started way before Overwatch. You could blame Valve for it but they just ripped it off from trading card games. So actually it's Nintendo's fault.

We wanna compare real physical things to nothing? Counterstrike was at least 13€, its not AAA and it isnt affecting all platforms as its PC only.

Bruh lootboxes started waaaaaay before Overwatch.

For 60$ / 70€ games? no

And those games were PC and mobile only. Just shows you how such bad bussines practices are coming from both systems to console gaming

Nope. Fifa has been doing this for ages, on console as well as PC.

Trading cards are nothing. They're pieces of paper with no value other than what people pretend it is. You can sell digital goods for real money exactly like physical goods. The only difference is that no trees had to die.

And how is it not affecting other platforms when you just said that loot boxes were once PC and Mobile only?

Nope only in Fifa 17 now, its wasnt random gambling microtransactions before. Also its very clear that only now after overwatch we have this massive wave other companies doing the same, its obvious

You gotta catch 'em all.

I was gonna classify it under a "crusade", but this fits...

...doesn't mean lootboxes are not a joke, of course.

Full price title. Randomized loot unlocks. Not Blizzard.

Silly you. Games with lootboxes before Overwatch obviously don't count. Especially when they're also on console.

On a side note, is there still doubt among the mod team about a certain user's obvious and toxic agenda?

You should thank the buyers; it's the only reason why it's still ongoing spread among other games/developers.

Also while we're at it, don't forget to thank the buyers for continually buying DLCs, incomplete games, games with a huge Day 1 patch, CoD's survival, everything EA etc... anything else you'd like to thank?
