I'm getting the vibe they replaced Smartglass with the Xbox App and dropped second screen functionality cause no one was using it/devs supporting it.

Yeah. I just went to Wikipedia. Apparently Smart glass became the Xbox App last year. The 360 app is still called Smart Glass, though.

I used it once a few years ago for 360. I don't remember anything about it.

I recommend using the Xbox and PS4 apps. Both are pretty awesome and supplement their console experiences very well. I hope the Switch app reach their levels of excellence.

occasionally use it (or rather its renamed replacement), usually as a remote control for apps etc, not for games.

Pretty much just to type messages. The Xbox keyboard is decent as far as console keyboards go but typing a message on the phone is much easier.

You need the Switch app for voice chat so it's already way better than the others.
