Forums - Microsoft Discussion - Microsoft Expected Xbox One X Scorpio Edition Inventory To Last A Week; It Didn’t Even Last A Day

They sold all 20 consoles in 25 minutes? Amazing!

“It appeared that there had even been demonstrations to thank Big Brother for raising the chocolate ration to twenty grams a week. And only yesterday, he reflected, it had been announced that the ration was to be reduced to twenty grams a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it.”

A previous gen and a current gen full of spin and this is what we get? We don't share numbers? Iirc you're the only company that actually would give npd numbers. Is this expectation based on current Xbox sales? Or a new console launch?

Whoops, of course I should've asked you if you were from the US, my mistake. Yeah, a few US retailers had preorders up until a few hours ago, though I'd bet we got significantly higher stock allocations than other countries (along with the UK, probably).

I agree with you about the SNES. I still enjoy many of the NES games, but each of my favorite Contra, Castlevania, and Metroid games were all on SNES. I was so happy when I saw the mini console has all three of them, along with other games I played the hell out of, such as Starfox and Super Mario World.

I am hoping there is a second round of Pre-Orders in the next month or so. Last thing Microsoft needs at the moment is not meeting demand when they are lagging in sales behind their competitors.

*****

I used to be a hardcore Super Metroid fan when I was younger. - I can complete that game in about 3-4 hours. Haha
Shame it didn't have the entire trilogy of Donkey Kong Country, but they made up for that with StarFox 2 and Secret of Mana.

I'm sure that the standard edition will be up for preorder relatively soon.

Super Metroid is not only my favorite Nintendo game, it may be my favorite game altogether. I remember beating it multiple times to get under 3 hours so I could see if that Samus bikini shot was true, ha, that seems so sad now that I think about it. Kid me was pretty thirsty for 16-bit pixels.

The PS4 PRO is a flop, why is it such an acomplishment to sell more than that?

Like everybody said: until Microsoft release some numbers, it would be wise to take a more "wait and see" aproach.

Not sure if you're serious, since you've been pretty sarcastic most of the times..

The Pro was sold out for months and afterwards still kinda hard to get by in certain countries..hardly a flop, whatever people are trying to state.

That said I fully suspect the X1X to sell much better in comparison during its launch period. Many unhappy X1 owners will want to upgrade as they want payback for the past 3.5 years and it's a more noticeable step up in power. I'm curious if MS will also run in supply constrains. It's definitely a possibility. The question is if they will be able to keep those sales up, but I'm sure games like RDR2 will play their part.

On the other hand a upcoming official 350,- (probably 300-320,- at retailers) price for PS4 Pro has to be expected and that's a hurdle the X will have to overcome. The countless PS4 exclusives (and multiplats like RDR2) will play their part respectively.

I checked the article mentioning the 1 out of 5 consoles being a Pro and i have to back out from my previous argument since i was wrong bro.

Sony is selling more than they expected and are selling more than they are producing, so not a flop, just a low seller as expected from being more expensive and doing basically the same.

Probably the expectations were made after the sold out pre-order to be anything that they could say know that they surpassed expectations.

duduspace11 "Well, since we are estimating costs, Pokemon Red/Blue did cost Nintendo about $50m to make back in 1996"

Azzanation: "PS5 wouldn't sold out at launch without scalpers."

XB1X sold out at launch just like Switch, PS4, PS4 Pro, NES Mini etc. No big news here..

So 1000 units sold out very quickly lol. For all we know it was 1 person who bought them all to sell at a higher price on Amazon and Ebay at launch.

Fair enough :)

Anecdotally, it seems like Nintendo did a terrible job with stock again this time around. I was able to order 2 but only because Amazon put it under a different listing with a weird title that I pre-ordered just in case.

LOL they did a shitty job I ordered 28 but was only able to get 2 ... lol sorry the bashing seems silly when some people are buying huge amounts.

On topic: Good for Microsoft they need all the wins they can get real or massaged. PR talk or not, selling out in 25 minutes is a good thing (unless you're Nintendo) .. damn it, did it again. I'm taking this as a positive.

I'm going to reply to you here since we are kind of off topic and I don't want to derail this thread anymore than i already have.

In all honesty... I would love a clear plastic version of the Xbox One X.
Black is so boring.

It's certainly up there for me as well.

I would not complain if Nintendo did a remake/remaster of that game in future.
