Forums - Microsoft Discussion - A very good commentary on the state of Xbox by a well spoken youtuber

Really? That's kind of surprising. Lot of people seem to fall head over heels for the Joseph. Cool to see someone else that enjoys analysis channels!

I'd be considered one of them.  His Edith Finch video made me appreciate it even more.

I like Joseph but his voice is very flat and boring, his videos are actually not that dense with analysis... so much could be cut out. He very rarely makes a point that seems personal. Even worse is his fanbase, because he covers pretty much every big game ever his fans are constantly saying hes like a "better matthewmatosis" .

I wouldn't call it 'boring' but more of a dry 'n deliberate approach--both in tone and assessment.  It works especially well when you notice the subtle frustrations he gets when reading off stupid design decisions in a game, such as No Man's Sky.  I can't get enough of those moments.

They vary in density, but I harken back to his Edith Finch as a great example of his long-form analysis.  He's more interested in plucking a plethora of x, y, z examples to reinforce some point vs. adding his own interpretation of singular elements and how they add up to a larger whole.  That does make him overextend the video more than necessary at times though.

Digibro is another great youtuber commentator. Lol

I like Bond's videos. He's one of the few gaming Youtubers I watch that bothers with being a consumer advocate. The rest I run into are either corporate slaves or shilly as hell.

I don't think Xbox has to be in a bad place yet. The Xbox One X is a different kind of beast than the Pro was, as in its purpose is to give the brand a second wind. It seems like morale being down with a company's fandom makes them hungry for the next thing they dish out. Not saying the X1X has Switch potential, but there's a lot of Xbox guys out there with a lot of money, and don't deal with PCs, that are feeling vulnerable and can't wait to replace their current console with this new machine. If only to make themselves feel better.

The exclusive software is a bummer, but it does have the bonus of boosting the current library which is good enough for them I guess. The exclusives for this year and next aren't the strongest, but we'll see if console owners are willing to put up with it for the multiplats after all.

YongYea just uploaded his take on Microsoft's exclusive games problem. His channel is very good overall. I first heard about him when he made a thorough breakdown on ME: Andromeda's animation and face screwups.

I came across one of his vids for the same thing when I checking that game out. He makes some good points about the big 3. Xbox definitely needs to step it up.

This guy is great. I'm on my cell so I can't get his name yet. Perhaps when I get home. Very intelligent and makes an objective point.

Lol I got a Crackdown 3 ad before the video started

Lawl... sweet irony!

I find it funny people actually listen to fools analysis on youtube.  I'm sure there is just such thought provoking discussions going on there.

It's no different than conversing with other people on forums.  I think that you're being incredibly lazy in dismissing points being made.

I can find articles and information about any company and make my own decisions.  Sure perhaps someone has knowledge about something I might not be aware of but I can easily see the market trends.  I highly doubt there is any ground breaking material in said video.
