Forums - Gaming Discussion - I did the dumbest thing yesterday...

^ That reminds me: I felt really stupid when I decided to delete my Final Fantasy: Chrystal Chronicles save data for Animal Crossing (and mine didn't come with the memory card)...! I'm not saying AC is bad, it just wasn't "worth" it!

I have to admit, it was fun cutting my brother's orange trees around his house when he was gone for a week... or just play on his guy and reset the game! Hehehe!

Random game thought :
Why is Bionic Commando Rearmed 2 getting so much hate? We finally get a real game and they're not even satisfied... I'm starting to hate the gaming community so f****** much...

Well, think of it this way: eventually the save batteries of all your cartridges will be empty thus erasing all your save files. You just skipped the process of waiting till it happens.

I remember my sister asked me can she play Pokemon Red on the GBC. And I said "Sure sis you can play the game". But I told here specially to not save and she did. I had the strongest Pokemon also.

I felt so mad and I cried about it. I was like 11 at the time I didn't know any better. The Pokemon was precious to me at the time...

I had a Gamecube with about 13-14 PAL games and 3 NTSC games. One day my younger brother decided he felt like playing Mario Tennis (NTSC) not realising that he also needed to change the memory card. The game warns you about having to reformat the card but my brother obviously didn't read it.

Gone were completed save files for:

Mario Sunshine
Smash Brothers
Star Wars
Waverace
Eternal Darkness
Pikmin
Tiger Woods
Starfox Adventures
Zelda Windwaker (plus Ocarina of Time and Master Quest)
Metroid 1 + 2
etc

What's more he played Mario Tennis for about 10 minutes and decided he didn't like it.

That already happened on my Gold version. I can still start games, but it won't save them. My Silver version is the one that I put all the effort into though.

With your current skills it should not take more than 10 hours to fully complete the game. It took me 8 hours to get 900 notes/100 jigsaws when I was younger.

i never played it, doesn't sound that good. but who knows.

i know what you mean, i hate accidentally deleting shit. I got so far in Driver 2 then accidentally deleted it all!

I saved over my SSBM file once. Close to 500 hours gone, replaced with a file that didn't even have all the characters unlocked.

My daughter erased my Subspace Emmisary file the first time she played solo. Now, I know not to save in that first slot. She used to alway erase any data I had on my DS, too. Apparently, she couldn't read, but recognised the word "yes". Most DS games would say: Erase Data? Yes/No. Touching the word yes would erase the data. Frustrating, because she loves the DS.

TopCat, what were you thinking? I still have tons and tons of PS1 memory cards in my closet, just in cases 1995 comes back. Every now and then, I pop one in and look at the games I used to own, but erase data? Never! I may want to play "Incredible Crisis" again. Start over? Nuh, uh!

Ahh, game file horror stories...

I had about 90 Pokemon in my first Red version, and six badges (around 40-50 hours, not to mention the trading). I went out to play outside with one of my cousins, and let the other cousin start a new game ('without saving' she says.) When I go turn it on again, I had one badge, a Bulbasaur, Rattata and Pidgey.

I think so, so many of today's 17-21 year olds (worst affected by the Pokemania of the late 90's) had a similar experience.

Crusty VGchartz old timer who sporadically returns & posts. Let's debate nebulous shit and expand our perpectives. Or whatever.
