let's compare the first year of the switch with the first year of the ps4.

Sony was making PS3 games all the way until PS4 came out.

Unless you want to make a 2013 list including. The Last of Us, God of War Ascension, Gran Turismo 6, Beyond 2 Souls, Killzone Shadowfall, Knack, MLB, Resogun etc. Then yeah I'm cool with that.

You guys are being pretty hyperbolic with that statememt. I listed 20 games, only 4 can be played on other platforms and 2 of those are just old versins(BOTW and Persona 5) that are still exclusive to that company.

BoTW
Yakuza
Persona 5
Tales of Berseria
Nier Automata.

That's 5 out of 20.

25% is 'a good chunk' in my opinion.

Uh... Yakuza 0 is only available on PS3 in Japan and has no english setting, you would have to mod your console just to play normally. It should not be included in that.

But if you really want to discredit a list that badly... lol

If you actually read the post youd have seen i already adressed some of these non exclusives, you dont have to include them in discussion if you dont want to. But considering Persona 5 and BOTW sales will mostly be from next gen platforms(worldwide... Japan is crazy with ps3), considering Nier has a bad PC port and considering you would literally need to mod your ps3 to play Yakuza with subs before its official PS4 western release... I think a bit of leniency is fine..

Okay then, 20%.

Either way I said 'a good chunk' not 'Most'.

If 20% of people hold a belief, that's a good chunk of people. If 20% of your games aren't exclusives to Switch or PS4 that's a good chunk of games.

I don't consider Breath of the Wild, Tales of Berseria, Nier: Automata or Persona 5 to be Switch/PS4 exclusives. Especially since three of those games I can/have played without a PS4 and the other game I could've played on Wii U if I didn't buy my Switch.

Anyway, for me I will have to wait and see how Mario Odyssey and Xenoblade turn out. If both these games live up to the high standards set by the best of their predecessors, then I'd say Switch wins the quality battle for me.

I agree that it is a great year though, and both platforms have decent lineups!

I think when most people hear the word exclusives (including myself) it means exclusive to that brand, whereas multiplats go on multiple brands.

Its an unfair comparison though, since Nintendo pretty much dropped WiiU support a year or two before the Switch launched, while Sony had first party games like GT6, Puppetter, Last of Us release in the PS3's last "official" year.

Ok, but then one could argue you can't compare the last  year of Wii U hardware sales to ps4 fairly because Nintendo wasn't supporting it.

The thread title specifically mentioned Switch and PS4, not Nintendo and Sony. Even still, two of those titles are on neither Nintendo nor Sony.

Not considering Yakuza Kiwami, Ys 8, Danganrompa 3 and Tokyo Xanadu?

What I think is, either way you go you're gonna have a good line up of games to play this year, and if you have both consoles, so help you gain the time to play them all. In short, it's definitely a great time for the GAMER.

Where is Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 FCP? You know...that collection that has KH3's prologue and the sequel to Birth by Sleep Final Mix in it known as 0.2 Birth by Sleep.

I don't see why this would be argued about.
