The X1 has been sufficiently succesful to warrant a continuation of the Xbox brand but it will become more and more crossplatform (which is good). What they need in the coming years though is a gamechanger of some kind, like when Xbox live was released or Xbox live arcade. They also need to step up their 1st party efforts BIG TIME.

Xbox game pass kicks so much ass. In the last month I played and beaten Bioshock 2, BioShock infinite, Xcom, Resident Evil 0 and Tale of two brothers. Now I'm playing and finishing Limbo for the first time. Awesome game.

Seems high. Although they didn't mention profit.

Anyone know the figures for Sony's gaming division/business for comparison?

XBL, high attach rate and so nice royalties from 3rd party games sold on XB platforms, share on games sold digitally on MS stores, 1st party games and XB HW, gaming accessories, overpriced proprietary internal HDD replacements for XB360, etc., seems legit.

And they are smart by way way of future proofing their gaming business to beyond consoles,- pc, windows 10 devices etc. That is the future as consoles will not be around forever and gaming will become a service on multiple devices such as tv, mobile , powerful tablets (that plug into tv) pc, laptops and so on.
