I live in Los Angeles and have only seen it in stock once since launch, 4 greys in a local Wal Mart.
I found one with persistence. I missed out on it when it stayed in stock for about two days, and then another one came in about 2 weeks later and I bought it,

I see; your export/import laws are very challenging.

Yep. Lots of taxes, huge taxes and expensive tools for transportation. Consoles are very expensive here. There is a demand and there is produtct availability, but some people are just turned off due to costs

US Virgin Islands. I have to get my gaming stuff either from amazon or when I travel to the mainland. Only 2 places here sell games 1 is a dedicated store(and a total ripoff) the other is a pharmacy on the docks by the cruise ships
I'm waiting on Odyssey to be released before picking one up, but if happen to see one in the wild before then, I might be tempted make an impulse purchase the same way I did when I spotted a Wii back in 2007.
Also, for anyone who's gotten a Switch recently or has been looking into getting one, has Nintendo fixed some of the initial launch complaints with later batches of the console such as connection issues with the left JoyCon or the dock being a bit flimsy and being prone to scratching the screen on the console?

You know I was always wondering why no one ever used the dollar sign for $ony, but then I realized they have no money so it would be pointless.
