Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Splatoon 2 Review Thread! MC: 84

Why do you guys care about this multiplayer game review. I see lots of reviews of games with multiplayer and the reviewer going "I can't really judge the online cause there is barely anyone to play with" and other such statements.

How a statement or those facts doing invalidate the review right there baffle me. Splatoon is a hugely multiplayer aspected game. The reviewers at this point can't get a grasp on how it will be, thus why can they review it?

As expected the game seems to offer little more than its predecessor and that doesn't justify the 60 dollar price imo. Maybe 2 years from now it'll be like 20$

Maybe in current state, but we know tons of free content will be arriving in at least next 12 months, so game will defiantly worth $60 even if now little light with content. You will not any price cut for Splatoon 2 in next 2 years.

I guess you were not around for the original Splatoon where people also said it wasn't worth $60, but were quickly proven wrong.

Splatoon 1 was never 60 dollars. Everywhere it was close to 40. At launch here in the Netherlands I saw it several times for 35 and even 30 euros.

Actually only in Europe was 40 euros, everywhere else was $50 and $60. And that wasnt strange too much, it was new IP that Nintendo wanted to push and Europe was weakest market for Wii U, now they dont have any reason to not set price of $60 when become one of most popular Nintendo IP.

It'll go down to that kind of price if Splatoon 2 doesn't sell well. And there is a highly unlikely chance of that happening. Splatoon 2 is already on rampage in Japan and it has been #1 numerous times on Amazon both US and JP.

Nintendo games never have price cuts, only similar thing they have are "Nintendo Selects" line where games receive price cut to $20-25 few years after they are released. Also they have from time to time discounts on eShop.

I think the messed up Nintendo Voicechat may be dragging Splatoon 2's metacritic score down a bit. You've got to keep your phone screen on, and you have to have that $30 splatoon headset or else you can't hear both game music, and chat through the same speakers. My phone turns the screen off ten seconds after use, so I can't use it unless I dig deep into the android settings and learn to turn it off. But I'm not sure that's even possible with my $30 phone.
