Excessive accrued annual leave really messes with the finance department. It's not unusual to be forced to use leave.

Just do it in moderation. I can say from experience that doing it too frequently is not good for your mental health

Great for you. At first I found it a bit weird, but then I remembered that working laws in the U.S. is not like working laws in my country. In my country, it´s mandatory to have at least 20 days of paid vacation every year, to the maximum of 30 days. So even if we don´t feel to do it, our bosses will order us to take it.

Well.... take your time to do something pleasant, go to the movies, attend some sports events in your city (football, soccer, basketball, whatever you like) or around it. Do some short travels. Travel doesn´t have to be long and expensive. Probably there are some places in your state, towns that you can reach by car, with interesting things to do and see and cheap accomodation.

Join the gym. Develop a new skill like photography, dance, language. Lots of ways to be productive rather than wasting your free time on the internet.

Sometimes people really need to take a week or few weeks off from work. I had a lead one time just turn into such an asshole. He was almost about to max out on paid time off (you have to use it or you lose it) so he took about 3 weeks off and I believe went somewhere. The difference between when he left and came back was amazing. He was no longer an ass and he was way more chill.

All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy.

I'd be fucked unless I could go home and get some synthetic urine.  Shame one of the safest drugs stays in your system far longer than any hardcore drug.

What you need to do is just keep going. You'll eventually get better again. They don't call me "The 14 Times Kid" because of my bank robbing skills.

Why not take a staycation for the next couple of weeks, play video games, post here etc. Then, take a week or so and go somewhere cheap, just to break up your time. Then come home for another staycation week before you go back to work.
