Ogre Battle 64. To me, almost a perfect game.

I wouldn't consider it turn based, but it's easily my favorite N64 game. Hell, it's my favorite 5th Gen game.

Never played Ogre Battle on SNES/64 but it does show up as RTS on wiki page...  I'll just consider it Ogre Battle series which includes the Tactics Ogre games which are 100% TBS.   So the series is a mix of RTS and TBS.  I could have put Tactics Ogre up there but lets just stick with Ogre Battle because I'm calling it quits on messing with the poll.

I think the original FF Tactics might still be my favorite. Might. It's been 20 years. I didn't like FF Tactics Advance 2 as much. Fire Emblem as a series is probably my favorite, although XCOM has made serious inroads recently.

I love turned based strategy games but don't play them as often these days because I'll get carried away and stay up all night playing just one more turn in Civ.

Any recommendations for turn-based strategy games on iOS?

Don't think his games are on iOS but you can check.  He made decent ones (different time periods like USA Civil War, WW2, etc) which the style reminds me of the Panzer General series.

Best to scroll through the pics because the first pic is one without unit images.  If you check out all his games most of them have 4+ ratings.  They aren't quite the sellers but he has carved a small niche market for himself.  Plus he continues to push out updates for almost all his games.  So he continues to tinker with them sometimes perhaps even taking suggestions from the fans.

RPG fans are welcome too!

I really love RTS games more than TBS, but I do like my Worms, XCOM, Advance Wars, Disgaea and older FF games.

Step right up come on in, feel the buzz in your veins, I'm like an chemical electrical right into your brain and I'm the one who killed the Radio, soon you'll all see

So pay up motherfuckers you belong to "V"

Final Fantasy Tactics A2

Arg its a toss up between civ and advanced wars.
Btw I consider strategy RPGs its seperate genre. And in there FE is king to me.

It used to be TalonSoft's Battleground and Campaign and SSI's General series back in 90s...and after that Battlefront's Combat Mission.

Although there are better games out there, CM (especially CM1 series - Beyond Overlord, Barbarossa to Berlin and Afrika Korps, though I like CM2 series as well) has special place for me.

Civilization 3 is the only TBS game I've ever played. I enjoyed it. I'd like to play a more modern Civ, but I don't want to buy a gaming PC just for that.

Actually, does Populous count as TBS? I played that on Genesis 25-30 years ago. Liked it a lot, but was too young to be any good at it. I remember we called it a "god game" back then, but don't remember the gameplay well enough to classify it today.
