Yeah I agree. With all the delays, 2018 will probably be better for at least AAA third party developers. This was a great year if you like RPG's however. It's mostly perceptive.

It's the best years to be a PS4 and switch gamer. My Xbox has only been getting love because of sales.2018 will be great at well.
I think a case can be made that any year software wise is an amazing one. There's still some cool games coming this year, one of them being Mario Odyssey. Now there's a game I'm excited more.
It feels too early to get excited for next year for me. So far, just the new FE game has me excited, game wise.
Dance my pretties!

The only big games were The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and Horizon: Zero Dawn. For 2018 it seems the whole year is going to be filled with blockbuster games. Propably starting with REmake 2 (release 21 january for it's 20th anniversary), Far Cry 5 (february), God of War (march), Spider-man (june), RDR2 (august) and the typical holiday titles for the rest of the year. Finally an excicting first half of the year. SO MUCH SOFTWARE! |
Hate to be a buzzkill, but I'm doubting the bolded titles meet those release dates.

Hey, if I stay on VGC throughout 2018, I agree that it'll be an amazing year for the site

All God of War main releases have been in March. Red Dead Redemption 2 was originally supposed to come out this year so expecting another huge delay seems to be stretching it. Spider-Man is the only one out of those 3 that seems up in the air but thats just because it doesn't have an official release date.. |
Well that was before God of War became a feels game. Just seems like based on the content and the fact that it can't rest on the old engine and assests that it'll get pushed back a season to polish things off. As for RDR, it's anybody's guess. I expect Rockstar to do a ton with their first(and likely only) game of this gen and seeing as it's RDR, it would do amazing numbers vs. anything with a holiday release. It could get a delay for either/both of those reasons.

Honestly, i'm on this site only for weekly hardware and software numbers. :P |
Sorry to burst your bubble, but the weekly software and even hardware numbers on VGC aren't particularly accurate.
EDIT: Also, I want to take that bet you are offering in your signature. Spiderman will not be the best selling PS4 exclusive of all time.
