But why they would do that if they can just make smaller Switch and continue working on exactly same games!? They can make smaller, cheaper, with stronger battery Switch and to continue working on exactly same hardware, OS and games.

Nonsense, of course they can make smaller Switch. Switch Mini/Pocket could have built in Joy Cons, dont need to be exactly same height or size, Switch Mini/Pocket would most likely be just for handheld play. All Switch games that have motion controls also have classic controls support (I think 1,2 Switch is only exception), even ARMS.

Far more logical and far more easier is just to make Switch Mini/Pocket, basically smaller Switch 4-5", with same 720p resolution, with built in Joy Cons, only for handheld play, stronger battery, with price point around $150-200 and of course that plays all Switch games (exept 1,2 Switch), so real Switch Mini/Pocket just for handheld play. I dont see any reason why Nintendo would do something like you are saying over what I wrote.

Yeah, I'm sure they would have a grand time trying to explain to consumers that "these Switch games only work with these type of Switches and these other Switch games only work with these other kinds of Switches" makes a lot of sense. Sounds a lot like what happened with the Wii/Wii U confusion, and that didn't go over well

How about instead they make a seperate platform, avoid that confusion altogether, give developers more options, and offer full 3DS/DS backwards compatibility in the process?

And for clarity, I'm not saying this is what I believe Nintendo should do, I'm just saying it's a reasonable possibility that shouldn't be dismissed.

Like I wrote, 1,2 Switch is only game that requires to use Joy Cons separate, all other games would works same on base Switch and Switch Mini/Pocket that would have built in controls.

They are no need for any confusion, base Switch, bigger package and much more expensive, it can be used like home console and handheld, Switch Mini/Pocket (or whatever name) that is much smaller, smaller package and much cheaper (around $100), just for handheld play. Don't forget, 2DS dont supports 3D like 3DS, and base 3DS dont support some games that are supported only buy New 3DS.

There are plenty possibilities, but what I wrote is most logical and most likely scenario that Nintendo will do. Also good posibilite is later for Switch XL or PRO, more expensive Switch, with bigger 1080p screen that will run games in portable mode same like is currently running them in docked mode.

That's a great plan! Instead of offering a Switch mini that can play 98% - 99% of the Switch catalog without accessories (and 100% if you buy a pair of joy-cons) make a separate platform and split up development teams again!

1, 2 Switch is not the only game that requires the use of joycons. But even if it was, the system is only three months old, there could be dozens of games that require joycon use released over the next few years. Also, Nintendo has never in its history released a new model that had lesser game compatibility (not counting backwards compatibility) than the model before it, and now it's more reasonable to expect them to do this than release a successor to a console that's sold around 70 million units world wide?

And fantastic backpeddaling there. There's a huge gap between "most logical and most likely" and "just as likely to not happen as it is for Nintendo to stop selling the Switch next year". But hey,  at least it appears you're admitting that Nintendo's future is not as obvious as you pretended it to be.

...why do you have to split up development teams? Do you have to split up development teams to make the docked and undocked mode of the Switch?  I said in my original pitch that this would effectively be a new optional operating mode for the switch that can be developed for along side the Switch or seperate from the Switch depending on the game that strips out a lot of Switch features such as Joy con support, multi-controller support, different operating modes etc. It would be far less work to support than it would be to develop a PS4/XB1 multiplatform game.

Did you even readwhat he said? There is literally like one game, 1-2 Switch, that needs detached joycons. All others have a standard controller option (even arms). So by "these games" you mean just one game (which by the time of switch mini launch will have sold 99% of the copies it was going to sell anyways).

And we really need a seperate platform, because I would really like their dev teams split up and create long game droughts for switch. Great logic, my friend.

Bet with Intrinsic:

The Switch will outsell 3DS (based on VGchartz numbers), according to me, while Intrinsic thinks the opposite will hold true. One month avatar control for the loser's avatar.

Maybe if you're going to ask if someone read what was written you should do so yourself. Great job.

the bottom line is, its the only nintendo made game to require joycons, they don't care these shovelware 3rd party motion games sell or not. If they were dedicared to joycon motion control, ARMS wouldnt have a controller mode.

Combo packs now?

What happened to ...."You. You'll buy a portable Switch and rebuy half your Switch games for it. Heck you already bought a semi-portable Wii U and have or will re-buy half of your Wii U games for it in some form or another, so what's the difference?"

Nov 2016 - NES outsells PS1 (JP)

Don't Play Stationary 4 ever. Switch!
