I ran into this same problem.  Bought a 50 inch 1080 in 2009, then told the wife I needed a new one when we bought our house so I could leave that TV in the general living space and have one in my gaming space, so bought that in 2013.  Then last year had to explain that while I did just buy a new TV I now needed a 4k one for my games because of console and PC upgrades.  So a 4k bought in 2016.  At this point, I have more TVs than I have rooms to put them in.

Run similar, so I traded my 42" plasma to a 32" LCD that my wife uses on the kitchen and have a 21" loaned to my niece.

I keep telling the wife I am gonna put the 32 in front of the treadmill so we will be more inclined to use it.  Problem is I also have to take all the stuff that is currently resting on said treadmill off it as well...

Yes, one problem solving usually involves another in a big chain. Maybe you'll be able to solve several things you left for another time, so it's a bonus on getting a 4k tv =]

Well if that is what you values in gaming hope it serves your needs and give you a blast

It'll serve me for some years, then I can upgrade to 1440p and keep my 1080p one for multitasking on it while using the other for gaming.

No price confirmation yet. I honestly think the price will be for those who want it tbh. I'm going for a G-sync monitor which is that bit more expensive than AMD's Free-sync, but I'll also be sporting an Nvidia card.

Very nice. I hav ea 60" 1080p TV that I got like 3 years ago. Mentioned to my wife that I would need to be getting a 4k TV soon for my PS4 Pro and she just shook her head in shame. No idea what I'll do with the other 60". Probably just sell it for whatever the best offer is.

Yep I got this 60" in 2014. Ah well I'm the bread winner and she doesn't complain to much. She just hate's how I'm extremely cheap about everything except gaming and whenever we vacation (which she does appreciate).

then the problem is just that you may need to make her happy when you buy it by gifting her

Well, I see. Hope the price drops quickly enough for when you decide it's the next step.

True I need to come home with the TV and some jewlery from James Avery. I don't know why but she loves that place.
