Forums - Gaming Discussion - Spider-Man (PS4) Was The Most Watched Trailer of E3 2017

Still not locked?

Pocky Lover Boy!

Around the Network

Including multiple channels, it still doesn't change anything.
Spiderman: 16,013,738
Super Mario Odyssey: 8,682,665

Only including the trailers shown at E3, nothing else, no interviews, no reactions,or other trailers/gameplays etc. Also only 50k+ views.

Should also note, Super Mario was trending on YouTube, someone at YouTube really loves Mario, and that really increased it's views. Also should note Spiderman is like 7-8 minutes long, longer the video, the lower the potential views.

EDIT: Actually even God of War has more views than Super Mario, and that wasn't even trending.

God of War: 11,497,066

God of War has 1,5M views on the official PlayStation Channel.

Number of subscriber's? 5, 638, 525

Mathchief = 5M in the same timeframe.

Subscriber's? 316,185

Am I the only one who find this weird?

Ok, is everyone who are looking for those particular videos are getting this channel instead of the official one because the guy posted it some minutes earlier or something? If so, how is it not happening with the Mario Odyssey trailer or the Xbox one X reveal?

I'm not trying to start a fan wars here. I'm just curious on how this work. 🤔

This "it's not fair if people can watch it from different sources" narrative is a new one. I haven't heard that one before. The things people will complain about are pretty amazing.

Anyway, I don't see how it's very surprising. Spider-Man transcends videogames.

Battlefront 2 did it for me. Sadly that was on the very first day of E3.

Nice to see yet another singleplayer PS4 exclusive getting a lot of love.

The PS5 Exists.

It makes sense to count multiple channels as the views are spread across multiple channels. Nintendo chose not to give other channels trailers of their games so that only they get those views. Spider-Man is a big IP so it makes sense for it to be # 1.

what're you talking about? who cares about the official views, that doesn't mean anything. The only reason the official video doesn't have the views is because when people search for "God of War", it shows the other channels first, nothing else. It was probably also uploaded first. It has to do with whatever link is being shared and it's up to YouTubes algorithm.

God of War still has 11 million views, having the video uploaded to multiple channels doesn't change anything, Mario Odyssey was also uploaded to multiple channels.

And same with the numbr of subscribers, that doesn't change anything, you don't see some random indie game getting millions of views just because PlayStation has 5 million subscribers.

Arguing over YouTube views is silly.

Not saying you're trying to spin this into something else, but more like just pointing false or misleading information.

If I make a table counting all the trailers views from every upload from multiple channels apart from the Sony games, you'd be fine with taking that as fact?

Cause if that's the case I can make a thread right now with completely different results, which are clearly misleading, but doesn't look to be anything wrong with that if that's what your trying to say lol.
