I am prete Sony would love to have much better sales in Japan also, 3DS will end up selling around 25m in Japan alone, that's basically will be around 1/3 of all 3DS sales when all said and done.

There is not any reason to doubt that MH5 is coming to Switch, 3DS will soon keep failing in Japan also, while Switch is on rise and it will be without any doubt easily strongest platform in Japan.

3DS in Japan currently also has sold an equivalent to a third of total PS4 sales right now as well. The Switch dynamic is interesting as the portable element ironically makes Japan a more relevant region for console like games again especially for eastern developers.
