Forums - Nintendo Discussion - ARMS is 1080p 60 FPS, but drops with 4-player split-screen multiplayer

The game has really good graphics for a machine that is supposed to be a WiiU on steroids, I think is understandable, especially since I doubt I'll ever use more than 2 split screen

Well I'll probably never be playing 4-player split screen, I don't even own that many controllers in the first place, but I expected this to be the case in the first place.

At least this game still features local multiplayer split screen as it seems to of become a rarer feature in games nowadays.

Lol..... I don't even think we should compare the Switch and 3DS hardware.

And what does 4 player split screen multiplayer mean? Like 2 players use 1 switch, the  another 2 players use another switch for a 2 v 2 match?

Good point. I always forget how weak the 3DS is compared to the Switch

Thats pretty sad.

It is sad. It is the reason why I'm concerned for the 3DS still being alive. I don't want another Pokemon game to be pulled back because of technology from the 20th century

They would be out of their mind to put the next pokemon game on the 3ds instead of the Switch. Then again this is Nintendo so we can't be too sure.

It's more up to GameFreak since they're the developers of Pokemon.

I just hope it isn't as bad as Sun/Moon's framerate issues. Dear god was that awful

If Im not mistaken, its 4 players on one Switch.Makes the most sense to me at least, since if it has no problem with 2 players with one Switch, why would it have a problem with 4 players on 2 Switches?

My (locked) thread about how difficulty should be a decision for the developers, not the gamers.

If the same pattern holds true, 3ds will still get one last gen 7 game. Then they will make a switch during gen 8.

A handheld gamer only (for now).

People are so obsessed with clinging on to the 3DS. Glad Nintendo are dedicating their spotlight to Switch only for E3. Sun and Moon epitomize the fact the 3DS needs to be killed off. Considering 4 split-screen multiplayer is rarely done, it's fine if it drops to 30fps. Still a decent frame rate.

even 2 player split screen is painful these days, doubt I'd ever do 4 nowadays lol.

I think it's quite the opposite. People want Nintendo to kill off the 3DS, but it doesn't look like that's happening, yet.

Everywhere I go, whether it's the Switch reddit (where I got downvoted) or a simple comment chain arguing against to coexistence of the 3DS and Switch, people come charging at me outlining the fact the 3DS shouldn't be killed yet.

I got downvoted for saying Sun/moon performance on a standard 3DS was abysmal, and also downvoted for saying Nintendo should stop making main games for the 3DS, such as the "next" Pokemon. This was on the Switch reddit too.

As long as it's consistent, 30 fps is fine by me for 4 player split screen.
