Forums - Microsoft Discussion - 343 Industries will have “a little something” at E3 2017, but it won’t be Halo 6

Halo: Combat Evolved was only a single generation old when it got remastered.

The Master Chief Collection was a bug ridden mess.
Halo 3 in the MCC didn't get overhauled. A resolution, framerate bump and a new lighting system was it. They couldn't even add decent texture filtering and anti-aliasing.
It would have looked better if they released it on PC.

I'm well aware, and I personally wish they would make Halo 3 Anniversary. But it isn't happening, 343 has made that much clear:

Frank O'Connor a few months ago: “Absolutely not. We continue to work on Halo Wars 2 and future endeavors. There are no H3 anniversary plans at this time and the diminishing returns would make it a tricky proposition anyway.”

Brian Jarrard yesterday: “OMG Stop.  There is no Halo 3 anniversary.”

There was leaked footage of a Halo 3 Anniversary title screen last year, but I'm guessing it was faked considering 343 continually denies Halo 3 Anniversary is in the works.

The "Diminishing Returns" statement isn't relevant to today though. There is a console called Scorpio that was fairly unknown when that statement was made.

Also. Denying things is a-typical for most companies, even when it is true.
Halo 2: Anniversary got denied as "Not happening" and then it happened.

So ask yourself this. Is 343i denying Halo 3 Anniversary evidence for anything? I say no based on precedents they have set in the past. Power is also not an issue with an incoming Scorpio that needs games to show it off.

Playing Halo 2 remastered felt like playing a new game. With the cinematics from Blur Studios, it seemed closer to Halo 4 than 3. 3 would fill in the gap and being that it was considered the best Halo ever, then this should be bigger news than Halo six quite frankly.

Halo 2 Remastered was a remaster done right. Shame they didn't remaster all the Multiplayer maps though and it got soiled due to MCC issues, but that's life.

Actually, Scorpio was already announced when Frank made that statement.

But we didn't know the hardware or how substantual it was going to be. Microsoft was being hush on that front.
We didn't know those details untill almost 6 months later.

Wouldn't that be coming from Creative Assembly rather than 343 though?

Halo Wars 2 was a collab between Creative Assembly and 343. There is a small team at 343 that assisted them with it.

With that performance, it's more likely we will get Arbiter Campaign DLC on H5...

People expecting Halo 3 Anniversary are most likely going to be disappointed. 343 has said in the past that Halo 3 wouldn't be getting the Anniversary treatment because it's only 1 generation old and already in Halo MCC. The "little something" is most likely DLC for Halo Wars 2 and a 4K Scorpio Patch for Halo 5, and if we're incredibly lucky, a story expansion (possibly standalone) for Halo 5.

You clearly dont see the pattern which is understandable. I dont expect many on this site to understand. Ill help you. Reason for those games being on Steam is based on there low sales. MS bring games to Steam as life support to keep something dead alive. Unfortunately for you, Halo MCC and Halo 5 sold quite well so expect Windows Store announcements at best ;)

Dont be mad, the wait for you to finially play Halo might come true if you have a nice PC. Just keep praying to the gods and it might finially happen.

Some of those games have seperate multiplayer communities, one on the Windows Store and one on Steam. The Steam players aren't adding into the Windows Store populations.
Secondly. All games sold in the Windows Store have done poorly verses Steam.

Halo the Master Chief Collection and Halo 5 had their own issues. They also haven't done as well in terms of copies sold as other mainline releases.

Halo: The Master Chief Collection almost has a non-existent multiplayer community. (At-least in Oceania.)

Halo will come to the PC. All of them. It's not a matter of "if" it is a matter of "when". - And there is nothing Microsoft can do about it.

Are you bloody serious? Did you just say " there is nothing MS can do about it? WTF... i... umm.. hmm........ haha let me say this to you "its there bloody decision if it comes to PC" omg i honestly just face palmed myself with your post.

Sure Halo will come to PC, for Windows 10 PC sure.

How long have you been waiting to play Halo 3, 4, 5, Reach and ODST? I feel sorry for you if you have been waiting that long. I dont like waiting, i want to play while there is a community playing those games and thats at launch.

Perhaps you should facepalm a little harder. Emulation is a thing you know.
