Super Bomberman 2 runs at 60fps though doesn't it? :P

I don't know if it does or not. My point is, none of us knew or gave a shit about FPS back in the 80's and 90's and it didn't matter yet we all enjoyed the games. OOT has one of the worst frame rates you could imagine and it's the highest rated game of all time.

GTA V, The last of Us, Bayonetta and other critical acclaimed games close over a 90 metascore also have a crappy framerate. So it's mostly pc gamers who like to complain about 30fps.

Please excuse my (probally) poor grammar

I'm sorry but this is just embarassing.
This game doesn't even look demanding.

Lol! Yeah the Switch is definitely not a "Computing powerhouse"

Given the story mode is able to hit 40 - 50fps at 1080p while also seeming to be more demanding, you'd think a drop to 900p would be sufficient to get it to hit a stable 60fps in the other mode. 720p (which is only 44% of 1080p) seems excessive.

To be honest it looks like it should be hitting 1080p/60fps in all modes, but given Hexa's reputation maybe they ran into a bottleneck specific to Bomberman.

Bomberman actually the kind of game you need to worry about FPS?

Is it the kind of game you need to worry about resolution?

The last time I played it it looked like this

Not saying resolution is more important.. just didn't know FPS was that important. I haven't played one since the 64 and I think that one was 60 FPS also.

I have no clue what fps it operated at, as the sprites only had 4 frames of animation per second at most... The screen might refresh at 60fps yet none of the game elements animated at that rate. Ah, the bombs flickered between states really fast:

And there was slowdown after big explosions. I always liked Boulderdash better anyway.

Meh, I've never been a PC gamer and I think 30fps is just not good enough for a lot of games. I'd never want to play, say, Splatoon or a fast paced racing game at 30fps. And Bayonetta's framerate wasn't that bad. On 360 and Wii U at least it spends the majority of its time in the 50-60fps bracket and rarely drops below 30.
