People who talk about suicide almost never do it and people who do it almost never talk about it.

Still not healthy to entertain the thought of killing yourself.

A bigger backlog!!! Oh gosh need another life span XD

Whenever life is down, I look at my backlog and remember I still have.....1,000+ games I still need to finish :X

So I play games instead of doing something stupid like drinking, etc xD.

But seriously, the fear of Death and the Fear of the Unknown prevent me from going over from stuff that would make normal people kill themselves xD.

Well if it works XD

But damn 1000+ backlog might as well have a team of people to help you finish it XD

Well I wouldn't describe people who kill themselves as "normal". Anyway fear of death is very natural and no one can say with 100% certainty what exactly happens and what you feel during that moment. I myself believe in oblivion, so my corpse will decompose and other live forms feed on it and thus the nutrientcycle is whole again. But perhaps there is an afterlife I don't believe it but I can't rule it out 100%, although from a logical standpoint I am 99% there isn't. Otherwise I probably have a seat with my name waiting in the deepest outer circles of hell.

Please excuse my (probally) poor grammar

The people who talk about are probably trying to reach out, so we shouldn't ridicule them and instead we should make sure that they get the proper help that they need.

Okay, I'm sorry but this is a really wrong mindset of talking people out of suicidal thoughts. Telling them to cling to a hope, without addressing the root cause of the problem is nothing more than kicking the can down the road. It might work for some, but plenty relapse, and end up in a worse state than they originally were.

i was thiking how to best respond to the thread and I think you did a good job of capturing what I was thinking.

Can't find the study at the moment, but it showed that it's the exact opposite. Those who talk about it, even when they joke about it, are more likely to do it.

My study shows the opposite.

Source for your study?

My Etsy store

My Ebay store

Deus Ex (2000) - a game that pushes the boundaries of what the video game medium is capable of to a degree unmatched to this very day.

Yeah, I had no doubt.

I had many suicidal thoughts as a teenager, even in my early twenties. Someone actually killed themselves by jumping out the kitchen window in the dorm I lived in (12th floor) I didn't know him, it didn't deter me either.

Yet I decided it wouldn't be fair to my parents and I should at least outlive them. They're still alive and by my mid twenties I grew out of it. Luckily bullying is taken more seriously nowadays, even in my early thirties I still had a physical reaction to hearing teenagers laugh. My self esteem didn't fully come back until I had my own kids.
