The xbox one S, is better but still behinde the PS4 slim in terms of design (size(space usage, smart solutions),perf/price,ect)

This is the first console so far this gen, they have made where you go "thats really well done" (from a design point).

I think its too late to turn the generation around though. Sony likely has like a 30m+ lead currently.... you dont just take that sort of lead back easily. Also its probably going to be abit too pricey to have a huge effect on market (if it launches at 499$).

Not nessaccary. Dont forget the XB1S has more features and ports so for what the XB1S is doing is very well designed. The PS4S doesnt have a HDMi Out and loses when it comes to ports at the back.

The original Xbox, the 360 were all marvels in design and the best in the industry when it came to power and programming. The Xbox 1 did fall short mainly due to MS playing it super safe with cooling etc.

The Scorpio is a reminder that MS know how to design and make a powerful console. However they could stuff it all up with the cosmetics. Lets hope its something like the XB1S.

Because the architecture is not a major overhaul, it's been optimized and boosted much like the PS4 Pro to the PS4. If we are not calling the New 3DS a new gen to the older 3DS even when it can run games the older 3DS can't, then this is not a new gen.

If MS says it is then it is next gen. That's the defining factor in it. It's not based on a consensus. Also, scorpio will play only xbox one games and it won't have any exclusive games if they stick to what they said.

Switch isn't a major overhaul from wii u. 3ds isn't a major overhaul from ds, yet these are still next gen.

They also said DRM is for gamers, and Kinect is the future. Nintendo also said Switch won't be replacing 3ds or Wii U... So yeah.
