Usually I'd jump instantly but I will not support this curved bullshit anymore. It serves no purpose, bends the screen and as such the image and is explicitly designed to reflect light into my face. Waiting for the Pixel 2.

If Pixel 2 comes with a curved screen I'm just gonna sue google for raping common sense.

On top of which, curved phones make significant problems for impact resistance.

The best android phones to get imo are the Google variants offering a clean and Uncompromised UI. Samsung overlays their OS onto android, just as LG, HTC and everyone else does. If you want a phone that doesn't have pre installed junk apps that can't be deleted, go with a google phone - in this case the Google pixel XL. Google phones are feature packed and generally have top tier specs.

hell nay.

That's crazy to spend that much in a phone.
I remember when top of the line phones were at 400€

WTF happened?

I think the most expensive one I bought was a Lumia 930 for 250€.

I don't plan on paying more in the future.

Yup I'm with you on this one, I have a Note 4 with Sprint, got it on a lease and I have 3 months left on my contract. I'm thinking of buying a BLU Life One X2 (costs around $170 for the 4GB RAM version) and go with Metro PCS, $50/month unlimited everything and I own the phone so no monthly on that. It is ridiculous to pay $700 + for a phone! NEVER AGAIN IM GETTING INTO A CONTRACT AND LEASE A DEVICE, NEVER!!!

K so here are my thoughts as a Galaxy S7 Exynos variant owner.

TL:DR: Yes if you don't have a Galaxy S7

First I will start with the biggest downside to owing a Galaxy S device. The software updates. If you are looking to buy a phone that will get you fast software updates, the Galaxy devices is not for you. You will have to wait about 6-8 months to get the "latest" software features. Although Galaxy devices generally intend to have many software features month's ahead of the Google's implantation, heck sometimes years ahead such as multi-window. So it's not really that black and white.

Also the speaker is kinda meh.

Now for the good sides:
Build Quality is excellent
Display is Fap worthy
Camera is excellent and generally beats its competitors, even month's after its release.
The Exynos version has the fastest CPU available in any Android phone and competes with the iphone in multi-core performance.
The UI is subjective but they have been continuing to get better over the years.
It has a wealth of both hardware and software features that it's competitors don't have and that is both a good and a bad thing depending on whether or not you use them.

So as far as the Galaxy S8 goes. Apart from how sexy it looks and some neat stuff like Dex and facial recognition, it is more or less a very minor update from the Galaxy S7 Exynos variant. Cause the CPU is only 10% faster and the GPU is 25% faster. Both the S7 and S8 is water-resistant, have microsd card reader and 4gb of ram. The S8 is 64gb vs S7's 32gb and the S8 has a bigger display but not by that much. Battey has the same amount of MaH but the S8 will last longer due to more efficient CPU. One thing to remember though is that the S8 costs $100 more than the S7's launch price. So if you don't have a Galaxy S7, then sure, there are reasons to get it but if you do, it's better to pass.

Oh and that Dex shit is sickk.

Would you still recommend buying a S7? My brother is thinking about it. It's heavily discounted here in Brazil, around half the price the S8 (probably R$ 4000 = US$ 1300). The only other high-end device so cheap is the Moto Z. I know it won't get as many official updates as the S8, but the value is amazing right now.

If you have an S7/S7 Edge like me then absolutely not. If you have a high-end phone in general from 2016, I'd still say NO. If you have a phone 2 years old or older then yes, I'd upgrade to an S8.

You tell me. I never had any scratches on my phones but I dropped my S7 Edge once while within a case and got a few broken pixels exacly at the curve. It's just absolutely stupid.

I recommend getting the Exynos version which should be avaliable in brazil but I am not 100% sure. The Exynos version is the international version and it should be avaliable everywhere except the US. The reason is that the Exynos version is a lot more snappy and faster than the Snapdragon so if you are going to get a S7, I suggest getting that one. Also the battery lasts longer on it as well.

But yea, at half the price of the S8, I certainly recommend getting it since the S8 is not a significant upgrade apart from the looks and some features like Dex and facial recognition.

Yes, the Brazilian model is the Exynos version. He was thinking about the Moto Z, but the international version has a lower clock than the Verizon version (that was equal to the Snapdragon S7), so the S7 would outperform it by quite a bit.

Yea, also the S7 is water-resistant vs the moto z is just splash resistant so that's a plus too in my books. Here are some CPU benchmarks via Geekbench for comparison. Of course, Apple continues to be a beast but Exynos does at least gain some ground in multi-core.

My Nexus 6 is still performing pretty good with the PureNexus ROM and the ElementalX kernel. I just wish the battery was better. I barely scrap past 2 hours of screen on time :/
