Forums - Gaming Discussion - GameStop expects Switch supply issues to last all year

Here in Mexico there are lots of NSs, since they cost the equivalent to $500 USD... So say the word and I can ship you one at $600 :p

Just order from Europe, 1 day delivery on Amazon.

I wouldn't be surprised if the Switch has supply issues for a while, but I wouldn't believe a word Gamestop says. Every product for them is a "game-changer" (Wii U) with "tremendous" demand (psvr). If Nintendo truly is doubling production, however, I would expect the supply issue to clear up before the year is out.

In Colombia its the same, you can find it in every shop but for $500-$550USD.

We have to go to the underground world of "San Andresito". I bought mine for $350, they recieved my WiiU for $200USD so i only payed $150 :)

Nintendo just double their sales forecast for Switch for the year yes? Or was that an unconfirmed thread I spotted that in? If so it would be hard to believe they will end up with stock issues if they plan on selling that many.
I guess if they truly sell that many they really will have issues keeping up with that demand though :o

That was a rumor. Nintendo will provide an official forecast for shipments at the end of April when they release their financial results.

Yeah I figured as much. It seems like a crazy high number to shoot for so I'll have to wait and see once they release their official statement,

Nintendo cannot be happy about this. They loose money every single day.

DAmn that was a steal!! I would glady trade my WiiU for $150 with no second toughts. Downside is that I already have BotW for WiiU waiting for me to be played...

GameStop is just trying to flame demand, especially since their business is so shitty right now they're trying desperately to push any new product that could help them out.

Nintendo is not dumb enough to have such low stock all year round, they will miss their fiscal year targets if they do. They have too many big games next fiscal year to sell as well -- Splatoon 2, Mario Kart 8, Mario Odyessy need stock if they're to sell.

1,2 Switch is no Wii Sports (not even close), so once this initial wave of demand is satisfied, things will cool down a bit IMO, unless Nintendo is undershipping to a stupid degree. It's more like a modern N64 which was sold out it's first few months on the strength of Mario 64, but settled down after that.

hopefully that can save those 150 stores they're closing.
