Forums - Gaming Discussion - Nier Automata takes dig at nintendo

So it seems somebody at Platinum games (or square enix) has a sense of humour and has upset Japanese nintendo fans that bought the game.

Theres a feature in the game in which you can Fish for rare/special items but obviously you're most likely to just pick up "junk" items from the past when humans inhabited the world. Well one of these junk items is called "NIN64" i dont know about you but it seems like a blatant dig at nintendos console that didnt really do well.

Aquare have been forced to update in a patch and change the junk items name. i find it quite funny.

If they're gonna take a dig at Nintendo, at least make it about the Wii U

I mean, the N64 didn't do THAT bad.....did it?

I don't even take that as a dig but as a pretty nice little reference. It's really stupid to be offended by that.

The PS1 outsold it 3x1, but it did sell around 33 million units, which is obviously much more than the Wii U.

It's ironic because Platinum and Square Enix give so much support to Nintendo platforms, must of been some fanboy.
