lol in what universe was TWD game more popular than Max Payne? And if they have a bias against ND they wouldn't have given them a studio award.

GTA V beat Last of Us, and Overwatch beat U4. It's not like some bad game won or something. Hell Overwatch got more GOTY awards from critics than U4 so it's not surprising it won.

And yeah Horizon will win some GOTY awards simply because there are lots of PlayStation sites and it won't compete with Zelda there.

Overwatch won more GOTY from critics - I like that qualifier. If you don't include The Game Awards, Uncharted 4 and Overwatch are tied in GOTY awards. Overall, Uncharted 4 still dominated the GOTY awards.

Horizon will win GOTY awards from non-PS sites too.

Well, now that this thread has been bumped, it's pretty clear that BotW is going to be the frontrunner, unless Odyssey blows it out of the park even further.

Just finished Horizon literally 5 minutes ago.

It was really good, but i'd give it like a 7.8-8.3/10. I don't think it will end up being my GOTY by the time I finish my back catalog.

Horizon seems like a well-made game. But it also seems incredibly tedious at times, gameplay wise. I suppose you really have to be in the mood for what the game wants you to do.

Nominated? Definetely yes. Awarded? That´s a tough call, with so much competition this year.
Anyway, the game already left its stamp on the market

No, it was about GOTY in general. You only put in the critics qualifier for Overwatch to have the slightest of edge on Uncharted 4.
