No it doesn't change things much, they said that to highlight how quick it was, the most important part of the game only took a week.

I'm kind of getting the idea that you're not very familiar with game development because as far as I know, getting things to 'roughly' work is still a huge distance from a finished product.

I know, but they (actual game developers) said that to highlight that the process was quick, and this is an indie developer with few people working, we are not talking about Ubisoft, also this declaration fits well with that the developers of The Binding Of Isaac said very recently

“The Switch is, by far the easiest and most programmer friendly so far,” he said. “I know this sounds like lip service to Nintendo, but it’s actually not. If this wasn’t true, we wouldn’t be able to get these games up and running as quickly as we have, and we wouldn’t be able to have a launch title. It’s light years ahead of what we were doing with Wii U.”

I think the 1 year ports are referring to Skyrim type games where there is a lot more code to optimize for the machine. Smaller games and Indies as long as they use supported third party engines such as Unity and Unreal should do it faster.

Actually Miyamoto said less than 1 year, not one 1 year.

I wish for a tenchu/Way of the samurai series Port and also that yakuza psp game

Good to hear! I wonder what's in the dev kits that's making it very easy for indie devs to port their games to the Nintendo Switch quickly.

It took a week to get the game running, not to port. The port isn't done yet.

True. But their website says they plan to finish the port in the first quarter of 2017. So this port will done in months, far shorter than Miyamoto's "less than a year" comment seemed to suggest.

Far shorter than Miyamoto's "less than a year." Far longer than the thread title seemed to explicitely state.

Why hasn't the title been changed? It's literally false.

He only has to change from "1 week to port" to "1 week to have it running"

Anyway I don't get the need to be so nitpicky of this when the end of the question is exactly the same, Switch is easy and quick to port games, simple.

Good. Now get on the Yooka-Laylee port Playtonic!

it does look good.

Switch!!!

I just learned: David Wise is the composer. That's why I liked the music after the first listening.
