At least with other mobile games you can slowly but surely unlock everything, but if Crystals are finite i'd very upset with Nintendo, hopefully they're not.

There are monthly missions that also give orbs but not a lot

You get two orbs for each day you play, and some for missions.  So not finite, but really scarce.

This game is actually quite fun from the brief go I've had on it.

Well if you can get 20 crystals a month it aint so bad then considering you can grind your units into 5 stars.

Grinding them up requires combining them with the same hero which uses crystals.  Crystals are also necessary to upgrade your castle, upgrade your barracks, and other things.  So, it kind of sucks.  Especially considering the price of crystals is kind of ridiculous.

I'm still deciding whether to play this or not, I'm worried I won't like it. I've heard people say it's simplified and I think the whole gems currency or what it's called will annoy me...

I might just stick to the main series.

I can't support F2P, its the downfall of gaming. I'm sure it will make lots of money though, at what expense... Well time will tell.
