You could be right about that. France, Belgium and Japan are all flawed democracies as well. France has a 2nd round election so that could be why. Hopefully the anti-Trump people can see some sense.

Just another case for dishonest media reporting. Regarding democracy, absolutely nothing has changed since Obama. Democracy means power to the people and not power to the elites that control the media.

And the dishonest, biased and one-sided media reporting is a real threat for democracy. Someone once said something like 'freedom of the press is the empowerment of the rich to force their opinion and will onto the poor' which is the opposite of democracy. So in my opinion the media and Trump need to sit together and define new measurable quality standards for honest journalism that will be fair and truthful. They must still be allowed to criticise the government but not without any reason.

Armageddon... nice sensationalist word. Instead of actually looking at the list, this is what you come up with? Mauritius is on the list - a country where there's currently a massive outrage because the prime minister gave the office to his son. Think before you post.

Painful

I live in Belgium and I think a 'flawed' democracy, like we have here, can be good too. Democracy is the best regime we have, but it's far from perfect. The majority rules in a democracy, but a lot of people have very little knowledge of politics, so they aren't really capable of deciding what's going to happen with their country.
Here in Belgium, every party gets a number of votes (there are quite a lot of parties). Then, a few parties can decide to form the government, if they together have the majority of the votes. This way, it's possible that the party with the most votes is excluded (I assume this is meant with 'a flawed democracy'). This is mostly a good thing though, since the extreme parties are excluded this way.

However, in the US, the situation is different. For example, Trump is already censoring the EPA, because the results of their studies may prove he's wrong.

So we can dowgrade they from a full economic jornal to a partisan print?

This have always been the way in USA and a way to prevent the majority to suffocate others, as the founding fathers said if two wolfes and one lamb voted for dinner the lamb would certainly be eaten. So is that fair? For them no, so they made the system in USA.

Funny enough is how the leftwing always decide that when they don't win there isn't any democracy... but will say Cuba, Venezuela and the like are democratic countries.

They need to be free to criticize the government however they want (and if using false information or just slandering then they shall be presecuted), the job of the media is to watch and criticize the government always, instead of being in bed with them like they do in some regimes and parties.
