Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Is Nintendo trying to find a balance with the Switch

Well as we all know Nintendo for each generation has always had different controllers compared to Sony and Microsoft who just had the one controller and improved upon them each generation. My question to you is if Nintendo is trying to find a standard for its controllers moving forward by improving upon the switch control scheme. What I am trying to say is something like Switch 2 having joycon 2 like PS2 had dualshock 2 or do you think they'll mix it up next gen as well

Nintendo controllers have always been weird, in a way. I think Nintendo will make the Pro standard, but will change the main controllers if it suits their needs.

You know it deserves the GOTY.

I think the Joycons may have just found that balance and may become their standard controller.

I do like how they showed the Pro Controller on the Switch Trailer. And how there is multple ways to use the joycons:
- Attaching to the dog controller
- Using it seperately (I think im going to love this one)
- Using it in portable mode attached to the screen.

Pocky Lover Boy!

Also just think about how much power a tablet like console will have five years from now. What I want is the switch 2 streaming to the TV screen so that it becomes what Wii U should have been truely. Two screen gameplay with fast charge using thunderbolt or whatever is available in the future

NO! Switch is apparently doing Wii U right.

Yes. The two screens was just a mess. Best feature of the gamepad screen was to allow off-TV play, but more than not, you had to use two screens, and you never knew whether a game would work with or without the off-TV.

We won't know until Art of Balance will be released for the Switch.

Dual screens gameplay is freaking useless.
