PSVR has had a lot of press lately and it hasn't been looking good. Sony are even pulling a Microsoft and refusing to release sales numbers. Sony has time to turn it around but I'm afraid that PSVR is gonna end up like the Vita sure they support it at first but when reality hits and it's unsuccessful they very quickly pull out and abandoned it with only a few small developers supporting it (those of which wouldn't even have enough money to develop for VR). So what do you think? Can Sony turn it around? Will they keep supporting the platform if its unsuccessful?

I'd be surprised if it was close to support Vita has enjoyed.

You shouldn't judge a device before its first Christmas.

It's already had its first Christmas. Sony just wont give us numbers although they gave numbers on everything other than it.

PS VR sales are acceptable.

What classifies as acceptable though. PSVR needs an install base in the high millions to become profitable for developers.

VR 1st gen is an expensive fad for early adopters. VR might become more mainstream one day, but not with 1st gen devices. Maybe in a few years. Either way, early VR adopters will be forced to buy follow-up devices.

They likely haven't released sales numbers because there's a serious issue with stock

Try buying a new one anywhere for RRP right now, you'll find like two or three stores have any left, and those are stored that recently received stock.

Some countries have not had any stock since launch (Inc Japan), US has no stock beyond what appears to be either a $699 bundle and refurb units in-store (not online).

Not really. If PSVR titles were low budget then you don't need to sell very many to be profitable. Good news for developers but bad news for people hoping for higher-budget PSVR experiences.

idk, maybe the next kinect? good sales but not much longevity. I don't know the sales number so this is my clueless opinion.

Nah. It's the next Move.

Thats the problem I'm worried about. It will fine for those developers trying to make some quick and easy profit while they can, but bad for the consummers who invested in something that wasn't what they thought it would be. And then there will be an on going cycle in which causes the question; are people going to spend $399 for these budget experiences? Meaning less and less content that uses the full potential of the hardware.
