Remote play was a highly advertised feature for Sony ahndhelds including the Vita, where you could access your ps4 from anywhere there was a strong wifi connection.... Letting you play games from the system on the go. The only real handicap was the wifi requirement. If Sony push an update to include LTE AND OFFERS REMOTE PLAY VIA ANY DROID OR IDEVICE I could definitely see this as a serious blow to Nintendo's switch console.

 

You guys think this could happen? 

Remote play has been available for Xperia smartphones for years (works quite nice with my Xperia Z5).

Didn't really help them to sell more phones.

Sounds good on a technical level. Not so much in practice.

I'm a Vita/PSTV owner. PS4 games look beyond incredible on that small screen and Vita games look pretty capable on TV. It's like Sony already had the components in place to offer everything Nintendo is doing. They just need to put it all together with just support. Oh well.

Sony doesnt need à response, they dominate thé génération , have thé best Line UP of games, so why would they need to see Switch as à compétitor while for now nothing says itll sell better than WiiU to Bégin with

So, you don't want Sony to do more as they do because they don't have to? I would be pretty happy if companies would always do as much as they can even if they don't have to b/c they dominate already. 

If it would be possible they should offer it. You as consumer can only win.

That is impossible in many ways:
-They'd have to move a crap ton of data;
-the phones' battery would burst in 0.0001 seconds;
-the controls would be awful with no buttons;
-games would run terribly on almost any mobile device

Doesn´t that require you to be next to the PS4 in order to use the same Wifi router?
I really don´t think it´s pratical at all. Why would I do that if I can just play directly on the PS4 instead?

They should lower the price of the Vita and advertise it better.

Imo Sony doesn't need to do anything.

Agreed portable gaming sounds great but when I'm out I just dont have time to game. I'm busy doing other things.
