Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Mario Kart 8 has no new tracks? Seemingly Confirmed by Japanese Presentation

If you own MK8 shouldn't you be pleased that you don't have to buy it now?

The game is made to attract new gamers to the console. I mean, it's an enhanced port of MK8. I think the new features are battle mode, and the revamped item system.

Means I'll be getting this later if/when it's cheaper.

No new tracks but for what it's worth, battle mode, new items, and new characters.

Read that on neogaf.

Online multi player is still free on the Wii U... soo.... yeah, Mario Kart 8 delux isnt the reason to get a switch.

Wasn't that Splatoon map new?

Fine with it.
I'm assuming this means that they are working on Mario Kart 9.

So the battle mode will be patched into the wii u version?

Also maybe I just want to play Mario kart on the go.. they really should just have made Mario kart 9 and release next year...

Thats just for Battle Mode.

That's odd. The trailer showed all the DLC content and characters in the deluxe version. Doubt that is true.

No new tracks in the retail/digital Switch version you buy at first.

I'm sure, they will offer additional tracks afterwards as DLCs. Why should they put these in the Switch version day 1 when they can sell them later for additional revenue?
