The Switch won't cost you anything as you won't buy one. Simple as that.
I don't think the pro controller is nessessary, the joycon holder looks as promising as a pro controller

lol nice
Changed title to reflect that the price is in CAD.
"Just for comparison Uncharted 4 was 20x bigger than Splatoon 2. This shows the huge difference between Sony's first-party games and Nintendo's first-party games."

Man, get 2 (1 for you and another for the family) or something like that first haha. Wait for a price cut and then buy the other ones |
Yes that would be the sensible idea for sure. Just my Wife and Kids will go on a rampage and take mine out of the house while I'm not looking LOL
That's what happens when you live in Canada, everyone is nice and everything is expensive as fuck :P
you're being a little illogical, the Canadian dollar is worth what it's worth, it sounds dramatic when you say "Omg the Switch costs $800 in Canada!". It costs more in your currency because your currency is trading for less.
it's like if I made a thread that said "Omg, the Switch is going to cost 50,000$ yen in Japan!" omggggg.
like if your complaint is some form of import fee or something then it's understandable, but if your complaint is simply about the price appearing higher because of the Canadian dollar being weaker than the US dollar... thats silly. I've seen similar with Australian prices, naturally your prices are going to appear to be higher.
on the topic of literally apples to apples equivalent currency's it still being more though then that's something to argue
Ka-pi96 said: Isn`t the price practically the same? If you`re just comparing your CAD price to the USD price then it would look off, but CAD aren`t worth as much as USD so it`s probably around the same in terms of actual price. |
this. its a click baity dramatic thread. Most of the users around here are probably using the US Dollar or the Euro so it seems dramatic when he says "it'll cost 800", but the Canadian dollar trades at 3/4 of the US dollar and even less when compared with the Euro.
essentially he just confirming that, yes, with an extra controller and a game (or a few games and a random other accessory, however you want to pick) the Switch will end up being like 500$ US Dollars. Not exactly newsworthy, same thing for any new consoles that are releasing at 300$ or more dollars.
The real question is whether the OP is trolling to try and rile people or if they're simple oblivious to exchange rates. Just because it will TECHNICALLY cost you more Canadian dollars does not mean you really are paying much more (if more at all) than US consumers. As far as potential tax rates in Canada or fees- well that has nothing to do with Nintendo and is your own domestic decision as a country

Nah they are fine, but people got spoiled recently because our dollar was the same as the USD, due to USA huge housing market crash. Still not even remotely near the horrible times that were the early 2000s.
