I got into it over one summer when I was a kid with my mom. Neither of us watched soap operas but people were going crazy over the storyline at the time. We tried it and became glued to the television for a few months. It was when Hope, who had supposedly been dead for years, returned with her memories erased. The main bad guy had kept her captive and reprogrammed her persona for revenge. It was like a video-game, with half the characters being kidnapped and taken to the villain's secret island.

I spent a lot of time making fun of the goofy characters, though. I had an impersonation of John Black that would make my neighbor giggle.

Are you saying you'd prefer to watch a soap opera instead of Megyn Kelly? Come one, dude! She's still super hot! Probably for only a few more years unless her plastic surgeon is a magician but as of right now...damn!

That face is meh at best (at least in my opinion). Sure she's a blonde, but I've seen better looking ones.

Made a bet with LipeJJ and HylianYoshi that the XB1 will reach 30 million before Wii U reaches 15 million. Loser has to get avatar picked by winner for 6 months (or if I lose, either 6 months avatar control for both Lipe and Hylian, or my patrick avatar comes back forever).

Not mah stories! Anyway, the soap opera is a dying format. Plots that go on forever, ancient characters played by a revolving door of actors, characters that have been married 10 times or more... fake out deaths. They're like comic books for stay at home moms and old people.

Can't say I'll miss these shows. They didn't really do much to keep themselves fresh for the people that watched them. They'll be a distant memory like the Saturday morning cartoon one day.

Oh no!! my favourite was when Marlena was possessed by the devil (and she was tied to the bed) and Roman I think his name was even became a priest so as to exercise the demons from her. That like took 6 months of episodes to see that saga through..  My mum was obsessed with that show. I'd catch it during Uni hols and still be able to keep u with whats going on months later.  They sure knew how to drag a story out.

I remember those episodes.  They scared me when I was a kid.  I was scared of getting possesed myself.

On another note, I'm sure with Mascolo dead, they don't really know what to do.  He kinda carried that show.  I mean, who's John supposed to be giving weird looks to when the show's about to go to a commercial?

A shame cause Days was really good when they had Sean and Belle were introduced in their teens and in high school. Then I lost interest after that story ran its course.

Who still watches daytime soaps I surprised they are still around. I rather watch a sitcom with laugh tracks then a daytime soap and I absolutely hate laugh tracks.

Well, my aunt watches General Hospital and my mom/grandmother watch The Young & the Restless.

Now that a long standing soap is dying perhaps some of its audience will tune into Monday Night Raw - The Longest Running Monday Night Sports Entertainment Show that is owned by a McMahon.

You should add a poll on whether or not people want to fuck Megan Kelly. That's arguably more interesting than the OP.

I'm surprised soap operas still exist. Now I hope morning talk shows clearly targeted to idiots disappear next.
