Forums - Sales Discussion - 6.2m PS4s sold during the Holiday season, PS4 sold through at 53.4m, Uncharted 4 at 8.7m

I just really can't be impressed by sell-through of a game when it's bundled with the system. I mean, literally half of Uncharted 4 sales could be simply because it came with the console the person bought. Even if the game was never turned on. Is that impressive, in that case? I'd be more impressed if they gave us real sales figures of the game, not including bundles.

Then sadly  almost  all exclusive  games are not impressive.

Sony,Microsoft, Nintendo  all bundle there  games.

Considering the PS4 will probably end 2016 with nearly 54 million sold, that's a pretty good prediction considering it was made a full year ahead of time.

53.4m is the year-end tally. And I am not going to give myself a pat on the back for being off by 1.6m when it seemed like 55m should be easily doable. I didn't make the prediction thread, but I agreed with it.

Oooohhh okay. I was mixing up the Uncharted numbers being through the 21st with the console sales numbers. My bad.

Bet with Adamblaziken:

I bet that on launch the Nintendo Switch will have no built in in-game voice chat. He bets that it will. The winner gets six months of avatar control over the other user.

Up 8% YoY. Pretty surprising given the Pro and Slim are such bombas.

Must have been a lot of old stock left

Excuse me but what?

OT: Well deserved for UC4!

Edit : at what's said above, holy shit that dip in Japan....

Pretty bad increase in hardware sales tbh...

Considering you had $250 ps4 slims, a pro version of the console, the VR launch, FF XV finally launching, and UNCHARTED 4 launching that year as well.... For there only to be a 100k increase says something....

Would not be surprised if the tablet market is eating into the console market as well..... Parents would rather buy kids a $99 tablet over a $250 inhome only console :S, just an assumption.

I would agree to some extent. Something is happening here and it's not good.

Up YoY in its 4th holidays - the PS2 was on the decline at this stage (it peaked in its 3rd year). I have no idea what people were expecting.

Soo if 55mill whas so easily  doable, why didn't wiiu,3ds or xbox  one do it?

Stop trying  to act  cool by being  negative, you just sound like a salty ninty or xbox  fan.

53.4mill sold though  is absolutely  amazing in 3 years.

i will never buy a console if i'm not interested with the games it was bundled...

perhaps all of these consumers is ok with that...

Well, this is basicaly flat YoY.

May be the Pro reason to be will become clear this year.

And lets face it, a lot of Uncharted sales are from the bundle.

Uncharted 4 nearly 10 million in less than a year. This could go on to be Sonys highest selling IP of all time.
