Forums - PC Discussion - *HELP* Tips for beating my backlog of games??

Stop buying games, That's my issue, have a backlog of hundreds of titles... buy about 5 games per week.

Just stop buying shit. Set a goal, tell yourself you're not going to buy anymore games until you beat a set amount

I'm struggling to come up with an answer. Mostly because there isn't one. Not one that will resolve your issue anyways. And most of the ones I could give would be playfully rude. Like, I'm not trying to be a dick, but it's so hard not to be...a dick. In good fun. Wink, wink. Nudge, nudge.

Resign yourself to the fact you will never finish the games you have purchased. Maybe focus on digital. That way, your physical games will still be collectables. But most importantly, play whatever the fuck you want.

Raise your quality standards. That's something you are in desperate need of when you play Assassin's Creed.

I know this was sort of a joke but that's why I did.

Last games I bought day one were Dark Souls 3 and Uncharted 4 in May. Didn't but the season passes. Avoided all other games.

Played Watch Dogs 1 but haven't bought 2. Played FC3 and 4 but didn't get Primal. Huge FF nerd from the olden days but haven't bought FFXV yet. Feels nice to get through the old games.

Stop buying new games

Play more, and if you want to ever finish your backlog, you need to be pickier about what games you get. As long as you complete games faster than you buy them, you'll finish your backlog eventually (unless your pace is too slow and you die first).

I concur with raising your standards a bit. If you find yourself with too many games, don't let yourself play games that don't interest you. You should never, ever play games just because you feel like you have to for some arbitrary mental need like getting through a backlog. Play what's fun and/or interesting for you! Otherwise life is too short to be stuck in shit you don't really like. (Though I'll have to disagree with many people here, AC4 is no bad game, probably my favorite AC game and in a desperately underserved genre).

I'm not big on the ship battles in Assassin's Creed myself, but I do understand that Black Flag was the kind of gameplay shakeup the series needed and that was highly appreciated amongst gamers burnt out on stock AC gameplay, only for the series to immediately regress in the next entry. Hopefully with the break between new entries, Assassin's Creed will come back with a similar high level shakeup in the next entry.

Same problem. And I have at least 40 games in my "must play" list.

Since the summer I have only played Kingdom, Bioshock Infinite, Battlefield 1, Battlefront Star Wars and Skyrim Remastered. And a little bit of Pillars if Eternity. I'm progressing far too slowly. It's so depressing.

here is a tip. play the games.
