"Didn't expect to be doing this sort of little investigation. Though, I thought it was important to at least put this out there so others won't be misled. Jez Corden of Windows Central posted an article titled "Xbox One sells 1 million consoles in November, neck-and-neck with PS4". The article proclaims he had a source that gave "hard sales figures" on the performance of PS4 and Xbox One in the month of Nov. I'll provide a screenshot below for those that don't want to visit the site."

"Well, at that point it started to spread on the Xbox subreddit and even neogaf as a fact. Well, that's when a funny thing happen with a podcast being uploaded the very same day with Jez featured. Apparently, he is a part of a podcast that features a complete host of people who seem to really dislike the PS4/PlayStation. The two main guys featured are Mooch and Crapgamer which if you don't know their history. Well, it really is a pathetic one that is worth searching if you want to know how to not fanboy. In this podcast after being introduced to give his opinion on the NPD and sales. Jez says that doesn't know the exact numbers and he doesn't know how high or low the PS4 beat Xbox by. Then you see the article where he says he has a trusted source. If you listen to the podcast from the beginning you hear Mooch says how he has insiders within MS that tells him its around 100k. Yet, these same sources seem to have and others completely wrong every time. I don't know about anyone else but this is pretty damning as this article was posted as if it was a fact of the situation. All I know is that Windows Central and Jez has some explaining to do."

I'd suggest starting from the beginning as the first guy speaking "Mooch" actually says the magic 100k number. Keep in mind that none of these guys actually have sources and if they do then they are terrible. In fact "Mooch" himself said sources tell him Xbox was gonna win November along with a lot of stuff in the past.

TL : DR

"Wrote an article on a fairly popular website proclaiming to have insider info on the NPD sales of PS4/Xbox. Then a podcast he is featured in that trashes PlayStation has him say that he doesn't know the figures or how high or low Sony beat MS by. Essentially misleading readers and got caught doing so." - NotSoConcerned

 

 

It sounds alot like he was caught makeing up numbers, and lieing about knowing NPD numbers.

Those rumors saying 1.1m PS4 vs 1.0m XB1 are based on nothing.

"I want you guys to know something extremely important about those two guys in particular. They are banned from attending any Microsoft or XBOX sponsored event Yet they frequently pretend to be close to Phil Spencer. All of the racist, vitriolic, damaging statements that say about us PS gamers in the name of XB has them blacklisted.

As for the numbers I'm not sure. But their frequent statements about "Sources" or "insider info" if true, really is a stain on the credibility of whoever feeds them info.

To the mods of this forum I have seen that group of guys mock the death of child who lost his life to cancer. I have heard these guys mock Japanese gamers and developers, both racially and explicitly. I have seen a vid of one of their members hanging around a bestbuy stalking people to determine whether or not XB will win NPD. And heard audio of one of their members proudly talking about harassing children in gamestop because they were about to make a PS4 purchase, And as crazy as all the above might sound that's barely scratching the surface. In short, those guys are the very definition of trolls and represent a side of gaming that should never be featured here. This is our forum. This is our community. And I'm asking openly that we ban links to their videos since that is what feeds these trolls.

I'm here because I love gaming. But increasingly I see links to these trolls videos being posted. And I'm wondering at what point do we collectively say "Enough is Enough?" Mocking a father who lost his son to cancer is not just crossing the proverbial line. It's obliterating it. And I'm asking not as a father myself or a gamer but just a a human being that we stop providing these trolls a platform for their links and remove them as we would any other troll.

With the 50m ps4 announcement and the "best FB ever" is enough for me to doubt that rumor. Either they are lying or ps4 is selling way better outside US than I thought.

Edit:  Also the agenda of a close race in november was done by crapgamer 5 minutes after NPD results was released.  the video he made after NPD which was shortly after it, you can see in its title "that ps4 barely won" even without any numbers.  Apparently every xbox fans tried to run with it.

These guys should be ashamed of themselves and Microsoft should probably sue them for discrediting their name and product. Anyway the administration of vgchartz should prob ably update their article in the news section with this Intel. Anyway nice job for uncovering this JRPGFAN
