Forums - Sony Discussion - Is The Last Guardian a Trojan Horse for PS4 Pro Purchase?

But "everyone" told me that upgrading from PS4 to PS4 Pro is a total waste of money if I don't also invest in a 4K TV.

Nevertheless I can play TLG with solid 30 fps or TLoU in the "fastest, smoothest version ever released, along with the higher resolution shadow-maps (that were previously locked to the 30fps mode) without a single dropped frame."

Dishonored 2 runs even worse than the last guardian on the og ps4 so does that make it a Trojan horse too? Is Sony moneyhatting Bethesda then to cripple one of their own platform which also got a slim revision? Smh

Not really, doesent run great on 4K mode either.

The game appears to be fine but they did a shit job on optimization. The visual assets arent far from PS3. The only thing that really looks impressive is the feathers on that dog thing.

I'd argue the animation system is pretty spectacular for what it is, but outside of that and the feathers, yeah, this is not a technically demanding game. Kind of makes you wonder what sort of performance rates they were getting on the PS3.

Hopefully that dosent happen to other games. My biggest fear with the Pro is that games would be done with the Pro in mind, and not the base PS4.Hopefully this is the exception, and the next games that are released have a smoother experience.

My (locked) thread about how difficulty should be a decision for the developers, not the gamers.

It's not even a clickbait article from Polygon

It's a troll article: "Look how bad this game run on PS4!"

Just after the DF troll article about how to run the game better on PRO by switching to the 1080p mode. "Look how low this game run on PRO in the 4K mode! it's the minimum fps we found on 12 hours of gameplay but we want you to believe the game constantly run at 25fps on PRO in the 4K mode. If you want real 4K, just wait for the Scorpio"

Pathetic.

Polygon is a terrible site. They hate Sony things.

Not when most people don't care anymore. Just real hardcore fans are waiting for it, the rest of the world has moved on.

So The Witcher 3 is made for PS4 pro too since the framerate is unstable ?

Predictions for end of 2014 HW sales:

 PS4: 17m   XB1: 10m    WiiU: 10m   Vita: 10m

Most complaints I've see about the game are more in it not being the best to control/camera/doing what you want, ect.

No amount of extra power will change that.

As much as SotC was a trojan horse to buy ps3

sotc wasn't going above 20 for long periods with drops to 14.

Difference: You don't have to wait for a remaster to get smooth frame rate!
You'll have to wait for a smooth 4K version though.
