Forums - Gaming Discussion - Why is UC4 considered a better game than Rise of the Tomb Raider?

He doesn't, but the mods do. And permalite have advised you twice on first participate on your thread and second to drop this line of conversation. I haven't seem you follow any of them.

I already adressed why I didnt answer my own thread for the day which I did in a polite way, he didnt tell me to drop it just that it was going the wrong way and I obliged, and I have participated it since. Not sure how you missed that.

As for the multiplayer part, while a great addition in it self I am not sure every game need multiplayer just for the sake of it. I enjoy it, but in terms of how it plays I prefer other games with similar multiplayer over it.

A lot of people are ignoring that Tomb Raider has no multiplayer!!! That alone should put Uncharted a few marks over Tomb Raider. At the end of the day you can't push across your opinions as fact, some will prefer U4 and some will prefer RotTR and you can only discuss you reasons why one is better than the other and even go into it deeper and break it down into categories like some people have done.

But it's a fact that U4 has MP while RotTR doesn't. It's not an opinion and it's a fact. You can argue that you don't care about MP but if you look at it objectively it's still missing in RotTR. So no matter how close the campaign modes are, U4 has a huge chunk of game that is completely missing in RotTR.

Ultimately gamers and reviewers have spoken and if you can't handle that, just get over it. I swear this is like the tenth U4 vs RotTR thread I've seen.

RotTR looks like to be a solid game although I probably won't play it. I had Tomb Raider reboot with PS Plus and only played 30 mins before I got bored. But from what I can see TR and RotTR are both good games and I wouldn't smash somebody's opinion if they prefer those games. But I don't think people can argue with the fact that U4 is more of a complete package.

What OP doesn't seem to understand is how he's rubbing people up the wrong way. People will prefer U4 and to be told "I cant see a single thing that makes it a better game than Rise of the Tomb Raider" is only just going to piss people off. It's just ignorance. It's not even a well set up thread, no reasons are given why one is better than the other.

RotTR has a co-op mode, now. Technically, it has multiplayer! In you face!!

Just kidding. 😏

While I love that Tomb Raider actually has things like crafting, exploration and experience to gain (stuff Uncharted needs a lot more of). Tomb Raider is lacking combat. You get these little REALLY easy skirmishes of like 3 guys occasionally, and that's it. Graphics aren't impressing anyone either. I honestly prefer Rise of the Tomb Raider though, now that I've finally gotten a chance to play it.

I'm posting this for the last time because this is the only video that anyone needs to watch. It gets straight to the point, shows clear visual examples, and comparisons about gameplay.

Because Rise of the Thomb Raider is not a good game, it does not matter if Uncharted 4 exists or not in this discussion...

Not a terribly elaborative video.

I think people will be better served to give a watch to these as well, one after the other.

I watched that video and I can't really support it. It just leaves out too many distinct features in birth games like the different modes (plus the new co op mode in RottR) in Tomb Raider, Lara's "climbing arrows, the fact that Lara also has a rope to swing with, can rig enemy equipment too explode, make hallucinogenic arroes, etc. And it leaves off Uncharted's (surprisingly superior) swimming, butt sliding, NPC interactions,  boating, etc. Both games offer much more than this video would have you think, including good-great puzzles.

It's actually makes both games look good (and U4 look much better) but it doesn't tell enough of the story to be a thorough comparison--at least, in my opinion.

At the end of the day, both games are hugely different experiences with a few things in common that draw inevitable comparisons. Depending on what you value, you can easily choose one over the other.

Im with you.I am still playing through Rise of TR, but so far tge game is superior in most aspects.Uncharted 4 is a great game, but Rise is (seemingly) simply the better game

My (locked) thread about how difficulty should be a decision for the developers, not the gamers.

Exactly. There were parts in even Uncharted 1 on crushing where I had to run for my life until I could find an open shot. Naughty Dogs AI is unmatched in the third person genre.

All 4 games had me on a pinch trying to play on crushing.

Oh yes, I remember those instances. I hate when they bob and weave when you have a perfect headshot lined up and then bury you in bullets. Tomb Raider tried to copy the armored guard and it didnt work out as well. ROTR was a bit better with less of the same NPC's running up to you. Tomb Raider has superior puzzles, but everything from weapon handling and actual gameplay have to go to Uncharted for me. Tomb Raider was just way too easy.
