Do a Playstation Smartphone instead :p

That has snap-on controller sold with each unit.
Make it Vita compatable and give it access to the psn, and allow you to buy vita games on it.

Sony should abandon smartphones manufacturing and just provide image sensors for other smartphones compagnies.

PS4 - over 100 millions let's say 120m
Xbox One - 70m
Wii U - 25m

Vita - 15m if it will not get Final Fantasy Kingdoms Heart and Monster Hunter 20m otherwise
3DS - 80m

No.

No, as a Vita owner I'm happy to have one dominant, powerful handheld device that receives all Japanese game support + Nintendo's. Sony's input outside of the hardware design isn't hugely important for me and now that Nintendo have high spec hardware covered there is literally no room for Sony. I'm talking dead on arrival, selling 10k a week after launch month.

And if the dedicated handheld market was 80m last gen, it'll be 60m this gen. It won't shrink forever but it stills shrinking.

Sony absolutely needs to get serious about the mobile market again. A handheld that runs all PS4 games, is something that should be introduced to the PS4 lineup of products next year. Sony needs to coninue to build the PS4 OS out to phones, blu-ray players, TVs, tablets, etc. if they hope to keep their place as a hardware manufacturer. Relying on Android, and a fractured internal software direction will hurt the company at all level in the long run.

A handheld is the perfect fit for the next peice of Sony's hardware future. They can tie into the PS4 library of games, and deeply route it in the PlayStation Network services. With 4G and the ability to call and text, they can see success on or above the levels they have already seen with PS4 home edition, and they will have very nice little slice of the home, mobile, and vr computing market.

So Black is the go-to colour for Sony consoles right ? And Sony would want the device to be the opposite of the Vita, so why not calling it the PlayStation Death Star ?

I kinda want a vita/ psp successor even if only as a platform for somewhat niche japanese developers to transition from the vita. Though very unlikely any chance of that happening. I would definitely buy one. One can hope :(

No. They work best with consoles, their other gaming ventures haven't been as successful. PSV and PSVR aren't going to work. The PSP was a bit of a one hit wonder. But it'd be best they stick to PS4

No. Switch is going to have problems of its own and it's going to be the most powerful gaming handheld in existence. I wouldn't be interested in another Sony Handheld unless they do something that Switch won't.
