Your Most Underrated Gem This Generation

Part of the Wii U library is hidden gem factory:

Wonderful 101

Devil's Third

Tokyo Mirage Session #FE

Xenoblade X

Paper Mario Color Splash

Project Zero 5: Maiden of Black Water

Listed games got too much of hate/ignoring among the gaming community.

Quantum Break
Forza 6
Halo 5
Gears of War 4

Proud to be a Californian.

Gravity Rush.

It's not a good game by any means, but its garbage factor is part of its charm and I enjoyed it immensely. And we need more games that are weird and unpolished and kind of garbage -- it's what eventually gets us games like Persona and Xenogears and Dark Souls.

Also, it reminded me of PS2-era platformers like Jak and Daxter and that made me happy.

So Gravity Rush is the Devil's Third of the rpgs?

I've just realized that the majority of underrated gems that cross my mind are WiiU games xD. I think it's also an unnappreciated console, and I wish it could have sold more in order to expand its cataloge but, well... OT, these are some of them:

- TMS#FE best JRPG this gen by miles. But, hey, it's Atlus, they always deliver. Can't wait to see if Persona 5 will take that throne. It'd be a hard task, that's for sure.
- The Wonderful 101. I think it's a better hack n' slash than Bayonetta 1 (2 is still the king). I've read some criticisms about the controls, but it wasn't an issue for me. It didn't take much time to adjust.
- Paper Mario : Color Splash. Yeah, it doesnt't have bad reviews, but it was killed before release by Nintendo fans (myself included). It's not among the best of the franchise, but it's still an enjoyable and charming adventure, with a stellar writing and presentation.
- Star Fox : Zero. I enjoyed it a lot. Once I've mastered the controls, I came to appreciate what the developers had in mind. I was capable of pulling tricks that I simply couldn't do with a standard control scheme. So, yeah, I had a blast playing it.
- DK:Tropical Freeze. I know, underrated gem is a bit extreme maybe. But I honestly expected that the game was GOTY candidate, because it's one of the finest platformers ever crafted. And it kind of... went unnoticed. At least more than I wish. Definitely more than it deserves.

EDIT. Totally forget about Fatal Frame V. Best survival horror this gen. Fantastic atmosphere, full of geniunely creepy moments and, also, immersive controls. A bit outdated, and it could do with less backtracking, but it was everything that I was expecting.

I must say that despite the WiiU fail, I'll always remember these gems, because all of then were worth my time and money, and all of them were among my best gaming experiences this gen.

Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker. I know it was well-received, but I hardly ever see anybody talking about it. It's fun, charming, adorable, creative, and clever. Not to mention it's beautiful. The graphics are a noticeable step up from Super Mario 3D World even. Definitely an underrated gem in my opinion (which is fitting since you collect gems in each level!).

Upcoming Games To Get

Definite: Kirby Star Allies (Switch), Mario Tennis Aces (Switch), Fire Emblem (Switch), Yoshi (Switch), Pokemon (Switch), Kingdom Hearts 3 (PS4), Monster Hunter World (PS4)

Considering: Fe (Switch), Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze (Switch), The World Ends With You (Switch), Ys VIII (Switch), Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition (PS4), Kingdom Hearts 2.8 Remix (PS4), The Last Guardian (PS4), Shadow of the Colossus HD (PS4), Anthem (PS4), Shenmue 3 (PS4), WiLD (PS4)

It's actually second in my personal "best puzzle game" of the generation, behind Talos Principle (another underrated game now that I think about it). You're right, it looks gorgeous, level design is fantastic, it's charming...

Captain Toad is excellent. It may be simple, but for what it is, it's practically flawless. And yeah, easily one of the best looking games on Wii U, I swear it almost looks like a CG cartoon at times.

Tearaway and Soul Sacrifice

This so much! I hope this game receives a sequel, but seeing Unfolded's sales... I won't hold my breath. =/

Bet with Teeqoz for 2 weeks of avatar and sig control that Super Mario Odyssey would ship more than 7m on its first 2 months. The game shipped 9.07m, so I won

I dont understand this site's definition of underrated. To me, it's 3ds Fantasy Life
