An no fucks were given.

Until World War III happens. US just lost a militarily vantage point.

Philippines already agreed to weapons testing by China. They can launch all the missiles they want into the Ocean. Philippines will just go right in and fetch to to recycle for scrap. 🙄 It's a win-win

I guess that's a win if we're expecting a WWIII to happen.

So how do explain this quote? Saying to China:

"I've realigned myself in your ideological flow," Duterte continued. "And maybe I will also go to Russia to talk to Putin and tell him that there are three of us against the world: China, Philippines and Russia. It's the only way."

Flattery, we need them dollars from China really bad and our Foreign Policy will no longer be dictated by the US while using aid as bait.

Plus since the US won't sell us modern day equipment that isn't surplus then may as well buy from the Russians.

Other than that everyone is reading too much on what he is saying because socially and economically we love the Americans too much for a total severing of ties to happen.

Remember in the 90's we kicked the Amercian Military out and our relationship (however poor sometimes it maybe) continues.

And that comment was the fucking out of script I was talking about! Jesus H Christ!

We get missiles scrap from China? Wow the US never even gave us that. Lol!

To be honest all this wouldn't matter if the US stopped China from building those islands in the West Philippine Sea. It would have made that Asian Pivot really easier.

I might lose my US citizen privileges now. He wants to require Visas. 😑

does that include votes in the most attractive user competition?

He even clarified tonight that the Filipino people will kill him if he does sever ties with the US and he is right.

No fucking way we are missing Marvel and DC movies.

Our secret weapon, get them hooked on our super heroes.

Thank you for the local perspective, always useful in these foriegn disputes.

He did a good thing. China is a growing economic power and US doesn't care about any nation other than themselves and their allies are never safe from them. Russia is probably hard to trust though but still more trustworthy than US.

The world needs another balance of power like USSR were to US. One nation being at the top and having a massive influence on world economy, politics and security isn't good for any other nation.

TIL the Philippines leaving America will devastate pbroy.

I know I should care, but how will this effect us? Do we have a military base there?

Ok the US left the bases in the 90's due to budget cuts, but in 2012 the US got permission to use them again.

If China decides to expand, they will be allied with Philippines and Japan is shit out of luck. Say goodbye to Japanese gaming. All of Asia will be under strict gaming laws.

They are already making their own islands with defenses. What's to come next?

USA : '' K bye ! ''
Let's be honest the US won't give a single fuck about that since the Philipines doesn't have a great influence on the International scene.

Bullshit, get a map out sometime. The US would be extremely upset about this as the bases their are strategic placements in the region. It does sound like more posturing from Duerte but quite smart (even if badly spoken), China is the growing strength in the region not the US and good deals with China are far more likely to be economically beneficial than those with the US.

Bye!
