Shiken said: I am buying the Switch to be able to play PS4 caliber games on the go. Say what you want, but the ability to swotch between TV and handheld is a huge deal for me. There is a lot of potential for Nintendo to knock it out of the park with or without BC. However if they did 3DS BC, that would be HUGE. |
You.. er... might want to confirm the specs of the console before you can say you can play PS4 caliber games on the go with the Switch. That video go the Switch playing Skyrim was apparently a concept video and doesn't actually mean that Skyrim is coming to Switch

BotW alone is a PS4 caliber game. The specs only need to be good enough, not better. This means that the WiiU if utilized properly can play PS4 caliber games. The Switch plays them better and can be played on the go.
This much in confirmed 100%. Any extra power we see at this point is a bonus. It is not that hard of a concept to grasp people. If a game comes out for PS4 and Switch, I will buy it for Switch by default for the handheld aspect alone. And anyone who knows me here can tell you I have been pro Sony since the early PS2 era.
The Switch already has what I have wanted for a long time, and I will not downplay it when we already know of at least one "PS4 quality game" coming to the NS that will not even be on the PS4.
I won't lie though, I am eager to see the specs. I have little doubt that it can handle full 3rd party support while PS4 and X1 are kicking. What I don't know is how future proof that it is when Pro and Scorpio become the new low end models. Even if the dock station is just a TV input and charger out of the box, I would not be suprised of later on they did release an optional upgraded dock with suplimental computing to allow for 4K on the TV later on. This would be a cheaper way to upgrade without replacing the entire console, and the right way to do it IMO.
Look at the N64 with the expansion pack. They have suprised us before. Only time will tell though.
