Low 80s. This has to score better than Sticker Star, because then people can shut up about it being just another Sticker Star.

It could score 98 and I'd still call it Sticker Star 2.

It has some obvious differences, though.

My copy is already in the mail. I don't know much about the game, I pretty much solely bought it to spite Einsam_Delphin. Now some might say that the last time I did something like that (Star Fox Zero because of spemanig) it backfired hard, but if there's one thing that people can say about me, it's that I do not learn from my mistakes.

Why do you want to spite Einsam_Delphin?

81 exactly. Paper Mario hasn't been a good series since, Thousand Year Door. Once they killed the RPG elements it became a poor spin off series.

81 is not the score of a poor game at all, specially when we talk about a relatively modest one and not a 200 milion blockbuster.

The series is poor overall, but I'm giving this one extra points.

First review comes from Cheat Code Central:

Paper Mario: Color Splash has a lot going for it. Most of the time, it's the kind of game that simply brings a smile to your face as you enjoy the fresh world and amusing dialogue. If it weren't for the tedious side effects of the card system and the disappointingly unoriginal cast, it could be a genuine Game of the Year award contender. As it is, it's still thoroughly worthwhile for its enchanting paper world (and the attendant tunes) alone. This game is about 80% whimsy, wonder, and silly grins – which makes it worth your while to put up with the few ways that it doesn't shine.

4/5

In a matter of minutes there's probably gonna be a lot of review coming so the poll is closed, this is how the predictions ended:

64% Believe is gonna be somewehere between 75 - 84

Reviews incoming, mostly positive by now.

If only the combat system was better... Honestly, based on the clips I've seen the writing is good, and the humour is witty and clever. That card system though... Bloody awful.

Reviews are as expected, it's an improved Sticker Star, so I'm sure people who enjoyed that game will find this game enjoyable.

I get the indication this game is mostly praised for its graphics and humor and presentation, but not what matters most: gameplay. The battle system is still broken, boring and something to avoid. I simply cannot accept this because combat has always been fun. I despised Stinker Star for this. Most attacks are just copy-pasted hammer and jump attacks. Lots of backtracking to the end of levels only to place some items. No character variety at all. Nintendo will never win me back with this approach.

And now let's cry all together.

If you read you find plenty of positive coments about gameplay mechanics.

78,71 % on Gamerankings (but only 14 reviews there so far).
Considering that some really harsh publications/websites are giving it 80+ scores, I´d bet it will reach 81-82 % on aggregates.
Another great addition to the WiiU library.... and even better for being an RPG.

I was planning to buy this game when I saw the first gameplay videos anyway, regardless of scores.

"The amount of variety here may even rival Thousand Year Door"
