Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Ubisoft CEO: NX will put Nintendo ‘back in the race’

How many comments promoting the NX has the Ubisoft CEO made so far?

Not as much how rumors are promoting the NX. And how much Emily Rogers have been promoting it.

As far as I recall Nintendo was never out of the race for last. NX will continue their strong lead.

"So all this tells us that the machine can have a great success, because it will bring to families a good machine. And this will be for gamers but also for all the social games that are generally sold on the Wii. Going after those two types of populations will give a good chance for that machine to have a great success."

Guillemot about the Wii U.

It's important to remember that he's saying this for the benefit of Ubisoft shareholders.  It means little until the NX actually releases and we get to see how Ubisoft plans to support it.  Ubisoft will turn on a dime depending on how the market responds.

The statements made about NX are much more bold than they were about Wii U.  Look at your quote "chance" to have great success vs. now _____

Nintendo wasn't out of the race before releasing the Wii U, so he couldn't have possibly made similar statements back then.

OT: I don't care about Ubisoft. Bring back Prince of Persia and you will have my ears.

This is a site (that started) about game sales, do you ever visit the front page?  With a one 1yr head start, Wii U got crushed, so yes they've been out of the race for a while now.  Clearly, these Ubi quotes are piggybacking off of "learned lesson from WII U, and now BACK IN THE RACE.  They are talking about a home console, not handheld or nintendo as a whole.

I hope he's right.

Though with all all this hostile takeover talk, I wonder if Ubisoft is trying to be in everyone's good graces by staying positive. At this point, Ubisoft appears to be happy to have their shares owned by anyone who's not Vivendi.

I predict NX launches in 2017 - not 2016

Ubi seems like a happy 3rd party, more enthusiastic than they were about Wii U without question now. Would they be this thrilled with an Nintendo Shield?

I think the #1 thing that matters to them would be a large audience that buys Just Dance and possibly Rayman.

Came in here to write almost exactly the same; Ubi made a big show of bragging about the Wii U before it released. Let's wait for Nintendo themselves to make an appearance and tell us just what we're about to get instead of following Guillemot's word.

You are both wrong, you just can't read. You're ruining this awesome post. Now read it again and think hard.

Well I thought I would give you the benefit of the doubt, but I guess it was just a hate post. Fair enough...
