Not really, no. Reggie in no uncertain terms said he didn't think it was good enough yet. Miyamoto said it has too many issues right now as well. Only Kimishima has said they're "looking in to it" but only after being pressed during the height of VR hype.  They've said they may pursue VR if it comes mainstream, and it hasn't yet, and based on current sales of VR devices it may not happen any time soon. It's pretty much all up to Sony.  NX will not have anything to do with VR, at least not at first.

It's pretty clear VR is the industry trend and pretty much the future and Amazon certainly believe the NX has VR going by their upcoming 3D shopping experience. I'm not expecting anything other than the 720p tablet dropping into a visor though. Just a superior easier to setup version of google cardboard. The debate whether an NX tablet can generate VR content is surely wrohg. Easy to generate very playable content but at what level the graphics are is the question. We are probably talking wii level graphics for the VR experience which is more than enough for cartoon style graphics. As previously stated current smart phones can generate good VR content so the NX should be able to achieve that or more.

It will not compete with the ps4 VR experience but should be better than phones and with instant setup etc.

+1. There's many rumors about an hybrid system, but i think NX will have something more we dont expect.
