Forums - Gaming Discussion - 2016: Worst year of gaming EVER?

People for the most part, like to live in a bubble. Not many people can step back and admit when something they love is awful which is what you're attempting to do so this thread isn't going to go well but yes, I agree.

Gaming has gotten stale and predictable. The innovation we saw from generation 1-6 is just not there. There are a lot of reasons for this which I won't get into but it's definitely stalling.

Don't know if this is the worst year, but so far we have the most mediocre generation.

Pretty terrible year imo

2016 is going pretty well as it is. Then again, we still have time to see how things go. A single game could make or break a year.

The year would look a lot worse for me, for example, if Sun and Moon inexplicably suck.

The Democratic Nintendo fan....is that a paradox? I'm fond of one of the more conservative companies in the industry, but I vote Liberally and view myself that way 90% of the time?

This year was rather boring, with me not really getting any games released this year :/

But I was still able to play a lot of games released in 2015 or before :p

This year been very good for me. Tokyo mirage sessions, ratchet and clank, uncharted 4 and gravity rush remastered. Just to name a few awesome 2016 games

Or because people are actually enjoying the games lol. Just because you dont doesn't mean everyone thinks that way. Tone the elitism down.

Don't attack someone because they share a different opinion than you do. It's rude. It's also very hard to argue against my point (which is something I see you didn't even try to do) that gaming isn't as innovative as it was between generation 1-6. I didn't say gaming sucked or was bad. I said it wasn't as innovative as it use to be. VR has it's promise, but it's still just promise. I think we're a ways off from it being transformitive like say, the Atari 2600 or NES were.

Not even close.

Rocket League crates and FFXV. Can't get much worse. Next year will be really good though with Nier, Elex and Kingdom come.
